July 16, 201114 yr Author comment_5476921 Cornette points out that the front row looks like they decided to remake Deliverance with the original cast. He's got a point. He continues hyping his team.
September 18, 201213 yr comment_5514788 The deliverance comment was gold. Cornette's gift of description is fully on display the way he build up the Heavenly Bodies (SPOILER ALERT).
March 11, 201312 yr comment_5538508 Cornette continues to build for his team's debut with a bunch of pop culture references, including the aforementioned deliverance remark. Nothing so fantastic in these SMW clips, but a nice mix of promos and character intros for a 60 minute program.
July 13, 201312 yr comment_5551764 Cornette's tag team would financially ruin the entire area as a result of its men packing up and leaving. Having watched the first several weeks of SMW television, things are rather haphazard due to the staggered nature of the tapings and various wrestlers being unavailable for weeks at a time, but they were about as effective of an introduction as you could hope for in terms of establishing characters, rules, and pecking orders.
January 17, 201411 yr comment_5580541 Cornette has a mystery team coming and everyone in town should be scared because they are more dangerous than a dinner at Jeffrey Dahmer's house. Nice. He wishes Rip Rogers good luck as he walks off set.
August 19, 201510 yr comment_5692830 Mr 'stick his nose in every bodies business' Armstrong assaults a cripple and tells him it's not fair to have a mystery team in the tournament. Cornette says that if he revealed their identity every man in this part of the country would hang their head in shame, move out the area and it would created financial upheaval and socio and economic calamity! Whilst the tournament itself would be decimated as every wrestler would be diving out of it they'd be so scared. He does give us a couple of clues, saying that they're sexier than Madonna and more dangerous than dinner at Jeffrey Dahmer's!
January 5, 20169 yr comment_5718931 I wonder how many people watching SMW TV thought that Corny had convinced Bobby Eaton to come in and reform the MX with Stan Lane. Of course, the Bodies aren't bad as a substitute, considering that Dr. Tom Prichard was the one who Corny wanted to replace Dennis Condrey when Condrey left JCP. Corny hasn't really gotten rolling yet here; this is more of a JCP/WCW promo than some of the classics he delivers as SMW progresses. Still, it's great for what it is, and it's got the whole promotion buzzing over who this mystery team could possibly be. Excellent work.
April 6, 20205 yr comment_5914114 Corny killed me with the Deliverance line. Loving him too, SMW has been a gold mine so far.
