September 18, 201213 yr comment_5514795 Well Pillman is a more logical choice for this than Anderson. Pillman also elaborates a bit more as far as him seeing the dangers firsthand.
March 11, 201312 yr comment_5538523 Pillman knows from experience to stay off the juice. Still a shame to see this almost 16 years after his passing.
March 11, 201312 yr comment_5538534 They did these with EVERYONE. My favorites were probably Big Josh for the sheer ridiculousness of Borne saying it, the Freebirds for their delivery, and Dangerously, since he talks about it framed with kids wanting to some day join the Dangerous Alliance.
July 13, 201312 yr comment_5551770 The spin doctoring and fingerpointing and damage control are all out in full force. Stay off of steroids, or you may end up too bulked-up to successfully defend your World title despite being the hardest-hitting opponent Sting has ever faced.
January 17, 201411 yr comment_5580549 Pillman has seen the heartbreak and despair for a young athlete and his family who has to go through a career ending suspension thanks to steroids. WCW was certainly trying to distance themselves from the controversy the WWF was embroiled in at the time.
January 6, 20169 yr comment_5719091 I liked this one, too. Pillman goes into greater depth than Arn did; I wonder if he really knew someone who'd been suspended for steroids as far back as 1992? This may be the first direct shot WCW has fired at the WWF over steroids, as Pillman references Dino Bravo's "world record" bench press attempt. Maybe he was talking about others as well, but I'm sure Vince took it as a personal insult, whether it was meant to be one or not. Did anyone ever take any verbal shots at Luger in the first few weeks after his title loss? It sure seems like they had reason to, considering how bad Luger looked at SuperBrawl (and, to be honest, as far back as Halloween Havoc) and where he was going next. They took it too far when they did a promo like this with Heyman. His character is so obnoxious that if he told me not to take steroids, I'd run out and buy a caseful because he told me not to. There are types of heels that can be used for something like this, but odious, spineless psycho yuppies aren't one of them.
April 6, 20205 yr comment_5914121 After reading the excellent book about Pillman by one of our own, I would say Pillman at this point hated steroids and the guys who used them. Also, he was a super over babyface, so it works.
