July 20, 201114 yr Author comment_5477227 Meet Tim Horner: Renaissance Man. This was laid on thick. In addition to being amazing at everything he has ever done athletically, he is also a brilliant singer. The feature transitions to him singing "Shameless" by Garth Brooks. He's not terrible, but really? Kind of an obnoxious segment, but a good time capsule. Shameless indeed.
July 20, 201114 yr comment_5477293 I thought this was awesomely bad, especially since the only one they did was for Horner. The singing never fails to make me laugh.
July 21, 201114 yr comment_5477383 I can't believe they actually let him sing the whole song. Very much Wrestlecrap and funny
August 16, 201114 yr comment_5479730 I like Horner as an undercard face. Not top of the card Horner. We focused on the music, I wonder it ending on shameless was a rib. I couldn't believe they were pushing the Hawk pinfall from the early 80's.
May 11, 201213 yr comment_5502362 Honestly thought the first part with the athletic accomplishments and some local charity work highlights was perfectly nice in a cheesy regional wrestling profile sort of way. But the last few minutes was so ridiculous. Ridiculous.
May 13, 201213 yr comment_5502477 Dated and cheesy doesn't even begin to describe how bad this segment is. Great terrible segment. Tim Horner can sing though.
September 22, 201213 yr comment_5515134 I liked the little background on Horner's career, but thought the singing stuff was goofy.
March 12, 201312 yr comment_5538643 Tim Horner is not only a volunteer probation officer who dabbled as a jobber in the WWF and NWA, he can sing to Garth Brooks. I know this made him a babyface in the south in 1992, but that is not the case in New York in 2013.
July 16, 201312 yr comment_5552211 All-American high school football player. U.S. Junior Heavyweight champion. Defeater of Road Warrior Hawk. Country superstar. How did this guy NOT get over as SMW's #1 babyface? Is it because the voiceover had more charisma than him?
August 28, 201411 yr comment_5621694 Oh wow. A video package on TIM HORNER. A great clip of Tim in the studio laying down some vocals. Just incredible. How could you not cheer for Tim Horner after this? SHAMELESS!
August 21, 201510 yr comment_5693320 An incredibly cheesy personality profile on 'one of the most popular stars in Smoky Mountain'. He's been an outstanding athlete all of his life, a four year defensive back All-American, a US Jr. champion, a co-holder of the National and UWF tag team titles and his biggest win was over Hawk on TBS. He's wrestled in the WWF and the NWA amongst others, is a voluntary probation officer and also an accomplished singer and musician. This then segues into Horner singing some country song. Christ, was this something! There clearly trying to give Horner a pretty substantial push but this does him no favours. Definitely falls into the category of so bad it's good!
January 12, 20169 yr comment_5720245 By Big Two standards, this may have been bad. By SMW standards, this was actually very good and hit just about everything you'd want in a top babyface. The thing you come away with here is that he's still the boy next door who can relate to not only his fans, but his neighbors, which in his case might be the same thing. He's a better singer than Jeff Jarrett was as Double J from what I can remember, and his athletic accomplishments mean much more to the actual intended audience than they ever would to us Yearbook watchers. Plus, we know Tim's push tanked, which colors everything involved in it badly. I didn't know Tim had actually pinned Hawk; I'm guessing this was on TBS. I wonder why Dusty didn't at least give him a push toward, if not a run with, the TV title after that.
April 25, 20169 yr comment_5748122 I think that was in Georgia in like 1983 or so when Horner got that victory.
April 25, 20169 yr comment_5748140 I didn't even know that Horner was wrestling that early. Thanks for the info, AJ!
July 13, 20187 yr comment_5856698 Tim Horner can't sing. Haha - Funny and Terrible. I can't believe they let him sound so flat - they could have edited it to just show the parts he was on pitch or something... too funny. #WhiteLightnin' - But yeah, so bad it's good for sure!
April 8, 20205 yr comment_5914276 Not a bad singer at all. Only thing missing was his own personality instead of just trying to ape Garth Brooks. Shocking that he would have trouble with that I know. Sings kind of like he wrestles, perfectly competent but without any kind of charisma or spark. Also, apparently Tim Horner has his own recording studio.
