July 23, 201114 yr Author comment_5477531 JIP from TV I'm pretty sure. Eddy slips off the ropes awkwardly right away, which makes me wonder why they didn't JIP 30 seconds later. Decent action, but heatless. Eddy gives another disappointing performance. I don't want to overreact, but even Scorpio looked better in the one match he had from this tour that made the set, and Scorpio is good, but he's no Eddy. Samurai wins with a German into a bridge.
August 26, 201213 yr comment_5513500 Wondering what is up with all these Eddy matches on set so far. Okay matches but not sure how they are yearbook worthy.

I imagine it's all about context, so we can compare Eddie's matches here to two or three years from now and see him blossom into the great worker that he became. Even in it's JIP form, this is pretty sloppy.
January 7, 201312 yr Author comment_5526525 All the matches from this tournament were specifically based on recommendations of what to include from the tournament.
March 22, 201312 yr comment_5539722 We join to Eddy immediately slipping as he comes off top rope. Nothing special, but I enjoyed what we had here more than Liger/Eddy.
July 19, 201312 yr comment_5552625 Not much to this at all. Keeping Eddy's slip was an odd editorial decision.
March 15, 201411 yr comment_5594544 Eddie is normally not a guy you would expect to fuck up left and right but that is what he is doing here. He failed twice to put up Samurai into a tombstone position.
January 27, 20169 yr comment_5724050 Other than the tombstone botches, I thought Eddie looked decent here. He wasn't what he would be later, of course, but tournaments like this were part of his learning curve. Who is El Samurai? He looked really good here, and should be one of the favorites to take the whole tournament.
April 14, 20205 yr comment_5914765 I thought the Samurai long dive was way too long to actually connect, even if covering that distance was impressive. Eddie's springboard plancha is really unique and I honestly wish he had kept doing it. Lot of botches, but you can see flashes of brilliance from Eddie.
