August 13, 201114 yr Author comment_5479513 One of the Headhunters either gushes within seconds or is already bleeding before the match starts, I can't tell. Really a proto-ECW match. Didn't do much for me, but it stands out in the context of the time.
September 23, 201114 yr comment_5483440 That blade job was flowing. With that said it didn't do a lot for me. Thought the brawling was there. Just brawling for the sake of brawling. Though if the Headhunters were around in the 80's they could have drawn decently in some of the territories.
September 20, 201213 yr comment_5514940 Yeah, the blood was just pouring out of his face pretty early in the match. My favorite part was when they went into the crowd and you see a mass herd of people running away. Crappy brawl overall though but at least it was on the short side.
August 7, 201312 yr comment_5555228 When does Pogo jump back to FMW? Pogo takes his cowboy boots off to use as an early weapon, and one Hunter springs a gusher right away. Headhunters' matches always read better than they watch, and that's no different here. Pogo accidentally nails Matsunaga with chair and they need to be separated afterwards w/ challenges issued. **
August 22, 201312 yr comment_5558049 Matsunaga and Pogo are working the partners-with-tension gimmick--somewhere Vince Russo is getting moist. This is better than your usual Pogo suckfest thanks to some nifty offense and bumping from the Headhunters but it's not exactly a great match. The arguing-partners thing pays off for the finish but they sort of make up afterward when Pogo rescues Matsunaga from Victor Quinones. I do rather like the Headhunters and they probably deserved to go farther than they did based strictly on merit.
March 27, 20169 yr comment_5735721 It seemed like they really wanted to go hardcore at first, then changed their minds and decided to work a regular match until Matsunaga nailed Pogo with the chair. This really made the one Headhunter's blade job sort of gratuitous. I'm not sure why Pogo bled either, unless it's because he's Pogo and that's what he does. Guys the size of the Headhunters doing moonsaults impresses me. I liked how they told the tension story between Pogo and Matsunaga. It was there, but they didn't beat us over the head with it constantly. Even after the match, the misunderstanding between the two didn't lead to a brawl or an overly dramatic turn. though I'm sure they won't be exchanging Easter baskets either. My favorite part was half the roster holding Pogo down while one of them mounted him and slapped his face to get him to calm down. Wasn't Victor Quinones a partner down in Puerto Rico? I've heard the name somewhere before, but I can't place it.

Yes, he was a partner in the IWA promotion in PR. Slow, ECW style, arena-wide brawl. Didn't do much for me, but it had it's moments where it got better.
