I seriously would have been bought him being taken out on a stretcher by that alone. Actually the story here was that Rice was sort of the vulnerable one as Jean Paul fucking kills dudes with his back elbow and Rice takes a double thumb to the eye almost as soon as he gets back in. Top Guns hit a great double team spot and Leone kicks out, only to get killed with a drop down dropkick. Fun match. Barry Zavan interview about god knows what Verne interviews two Olympic wrestlers in their singlets. Top Guns pre-tape Mando/Chavo Guerrero v. Mike Somani/Vernon Deaton Guerreros hit some really awesome looking shit on Somani early. Mandos rolling escape of Deaton's back body drop attempt was awesome. God damn this is fun shit with Mando rubbing his boot into Deaton's face then locking him into the most deliberate looking headscissors ever. Mando hits a vault/twisting sunset flip on Somani and then another variation a few seconds later. Somani takes some brutal Euro uppercuts and then a butterfly suplex. Chavo ends up in the heel corner where their offense consists of covering his mouth and biting him. Chavo just walks out and Deaton gets destroyed by a pair of deep suplex spots. Chavo hits a moonsault press for the finish. Not competitive at all so I can't see it on the set, but this was better than the Badd Company match. Badd Company pre-tape Jerry Lewis is on AWA celebrity corner. Jerry Lawler v. Chris Curtis Lawler's fist drop was great here. I was surprised to see Curtis work crazy stiff with Lawler when he usually works light as hell. King hit a nice enziguri and Curtis sell job of the back body drop was pretty good stuff actually. Lawler wins quickly but this was still the best Chris Curtis match of all time. Madusa pre-tape. Paul Diamond v. Kevin Collins Collins looks like 86 era Scott Hall. He moves around awkwardly. Diamond won with a gordbuster. Soldad/Tejo Khan pre-tape. Tejo Khan v. Baron Von Raschke For some reason Tejo and the Baron walk to the ring at the same time albeit down separate aisles. Tejo ambushes the Baron at the bell but ends up fleeing from the threat of the claw. Baron using Tejo's braided pony tail as a pulley was cool and led to a lengthy discussion about what the technical term for that hair style is with Trongard and Marshall. Tejo takes a fucking insane bump on a back body drop landing on his head. Say what you want about Tejo, but his strikes were about ten times as stiff as the Baron's. Soldad hits the ring as soon as the claw gets locked on and they double team the Baron until Jay sTrongbow Jr. makes the save. This was actually better than I would have guessed though it was by no means good.
