Greg Gagne v. Dennis Stamp

Stamp does some cool shit. Particularly I liked his mock Terry Funk style selling. Amarillo pride!

Bill Apter interviews Curt Hennig. Hennig is really great here trashing the Gagne's and justifying his heeling. EXTRA

Adrian Adonis v. David Price

Price looks like a cross between Terry Garvin and Richard Simmons. Trongard claims the ring announcer works down Adonis' weight by 160 lbs. Loved Adonis speedy clothesline and fat man splash.

Soldat Ustinov v. Houdini

We have this already

Ustinov/Khan promo

Midnight Rockers v. Tom Stone/Pete Sanchez

Sanchez flexing was great. This was actually a pretty cool little squash. The heels don't have great offense but they knew how to work a decent control segment. Sanchez has totally bizarre motions in the ring and throws the strangest body slams I've ever seen. Rockers double flying elbow finish was cool.

Apter is sitting down to interview Dennis Condrey and Paul E runs in on the set refusing to let him talk. Apter asked him why he split with Eaton and Paul E answered. Paul E ends up answering all the questions and sort of subtely buries the AWA.

Curt Hennig v. Wahoo McDaniel

Trongard claims Wahoo runs a 40 in 4.4. Hennig is in retreat mode early and takes some typically good bumps. Wahoo's slick inside out arm wringer spot gets me every time. I had started to believe Hennig was just a far better face than heel to explain how good he was in the AWA, but like with the Lawler match I watched recently he was great early with his shit talking, timing his big bumps and I even thought he looked appropriately vicious when he lured Wahoo in and went to work on his leg. This is dying days AWA at this point but the crowd is fucking rabid for Wahoo and it really feels like they are working in a much bigger building at times. Hennig takes a crazy bump off of an eye gouge of all things and they spill to the floor where Wahoo gets posted. Wahoo is busted open with the crowd chanting his name as he just eats shots from Hennig. Hennig's wild strikes and relentless targetting of the cut is good stuff and I really liked the Wahoo comeback off the suplex reversal. There is a great 2 count off of a backbreaker here with Wahoo just glaring at the ref afterward and the crowd exploding. Another great near fall off of a delayed suplex with Trongard and Gagne being incensed about the speed of the count and Hennig saving himself with a foot on the rope. They spill back to the floor and Hennig eats a post shot. There is a great subplot story down the stretch as Hennig keeps spilling to the floor where he takes an asskicking but can't be beat. This includes a lunatic bump off of a slingshot that leads to an incredible strike exchange on the floor and eventually Hennig's leg getting posted. Sure enough Hennig ends up clinging to Wahoo's tights keeping him to the floor and saving his title. I thought this might have been one of the already nominated matches from these two but it looks like none have DCO finishes so I guess not. This was pretty great shit.
