Posted June 22, 201114 yr comment_5474747 Blackwell is not impressed with Kelly's flexing. Blackwell snaps after being manhandled and drills Kelly with some big shots knocking him to the floor. Kelly extends his hand and Blackwell accepts and knees him in the balls then gives him a big shoulder tackle sending him to the floor. Then Blackwell struts around the ring and slicks back his hair ala the Fonz. Kelly gets back in the ring and Blackwell offers his hand in the most sarcastic fashion possible. Blackwell does an awesome weeble wobble sell on a back elbow. Kelly ends up slamming Blackwell and then letting out this gasp of relief before following up with an elbow for a near fall. Then there is a pretty great punch exchange that ends with Jerry slumped in the ropes. He looks like he is nearly dead, but he reverses Kelly and decks him with a clothesline. Kinisiki gets on the apron and Blackwell flips him in and headbutts him in the face and the ref throws out the match. Post-match Blackwell ends up fighting off both men. I thought this was a pretty great showing from a very physically limited Blackwell against one of the most limited pro wrestlers who ever lived in Kevin Kelly. For that reason it deserves to be nominated.
June 26, 201114 yr comment_5475161 I am going to give this a mild recommendation. Really great performance by Blackwell. Kelly is such a load, although the bodyslam spot was well executed by both. Three more minutes and/or a finish puts this on for sure, without either it is on the cusp.
May 6, 201213 yr comment_5501948 Crusher Blackwell vs. "Mr. Magnificent" Kevin Kelly (10/17/87) Damn does Kelly suck I mean he was one of the worst workers in the 80's. Blackwell is great here at what he does but Kelly is such a piece of shit here that it drags down the match and then you throw in the stupid finish involving Nick Kiniski that seals it's fate in not being a nomination.
