Wahoo McDaniel promo from a Night Club with Larry Nelson where they are ringing in the new year (I think?) Mitch Snow/Alan West v. Pete Sanchez/Tom Stone Got to give it to the heels, for a makeshift team they did some great stooging and fun goofball bullshit early. Hell Sanchez and Stone would have made a way more interesting heel team than Ustinov and Tejo Khan. God snow and West have a stupid finish. Midnight Rockers interview with Nelson from the Night Club ringing in the new year. For some reason Shawn is wearing a tie which does not seem very "Rocky." Still, this feels like an EXTRA Mitch Snow with Nelson at the Night Club. Greg Gagne v. Adrian Adonis This was kind of neat because they worked it slow starting with holds, building to some audience schtick/Paul E. freak outs and then going forward into Adrian being a bruiser. This was the finals of the TV title tourney so it had more of a "big match" feel than pretty much anything else coming out of the AWA at this point. They did dueling sleeper spots, Paul E tries to throw the powder but gets decked and Bob Orton hits the ring to attack Greg. Again more of an angle than a match though a pretty fun one with Wahoo making the save. EXTRA Greg Gagne post-match promo. Midnight Rockers v. Kevin Kelly/Nick Kiniski Rockers overwhelm the muscleheads early. They do the spot with Marty saving Shawn from the corner Irish Whip than the heels try and do the same and Shawn ends up punting Kelly as he lays on the top rope to a huge pop. It might be excessive to some but I enjoyed the Rockers confounding the bigger men with various headlock take downs including a really neat float over spot from Jannetty. To his credit Kiniski was really fun as the jock getting embarrassed by the little dudes. Kelly ends up coming in and what else, flexing. I expect Shawn to make him pay for this, but instead he gets pressed and then slammed on the floor to go FIP. Really cool moment with Shawn pulling a Ricky Morton and having a hope spot slugfest on the floor with Kiniski before getting thrown back to Kelly. Shawn has another nice hope spot off a rope running spot that ends with him getting cut off on a crossbody and hit with a backbreaker. I hate bearhugs as much as the next guy but Shawn sells the shit out of them here, does a cool break of the first, has a crazy bridging spot on the second and then falls into a hot tag for Marty. The Rockers clear the ring with dropkicks and go for a finish but Madusa pushes Shawn off the top for a big flip bump and the DQ. Post-match Madusa ends up getting bumped to the floor by Kiniski on accident and The Rockers clear the ring. This was a real for The Rockers as they were working against a totally uninteresting and almost completely untalented heel team. They passed. This was a good match.
