Posted June 26, 201114 yr comment_5475229 Panico/? v. Acertijo/All Star Undercard tag with some fun wrestling. Nice armdrags by the technicos and fun bumping rudos. I enjoyed it although it is unessential. Tierra, Viento y Fuego/Pierroth Jr./El Supremeo v.Americo Rocca/Gran Cochiese/Aguila Solitaria Gran Cochiese somehow arm drags a guy with his trunks. Outside of that nothing really memorable. I enjoy watching Pierroth Jr. Ciclon Ramierez/Javier Cruz/Blue Demon Jr. v. Hombre Bala/Pirata Morgan/Hijo Del Gladiator Really fun 2nd fall surrounded by basic 1st and 3rd falls. I really enjoy Javier Cruz in this and Pirata is Pirata, but I needed more good stuff to move this ahead. Ciclon does get bodyslammed off the apron to the floor. Popitekus/Angel Azteca/Steve Nelson v. Emilio Charles Jr./Gran Markus Jr./Masakre Really fun match. Nelson has been a total discovery on this set, I have never even heard of him before, but he is great. He had some awesome amature style matwork with Emilo in the first fall, and an awesome spinebuster/fisherman's suplex combo to end the third. I always enjoy Popitekus, and we got some battle of the monsters stuff with him and Markus, as well as some squashing of folks with splashes. Atlantis/Rayo Del Jalisco/Lizmark v. El Faraon/Super Halcon/Cien Caras Match basically sets up Halcon and Caras turning a Faraon. Lots of good technicos not doing much
May 6, 201213 yr comment_5501942 Panico/Comando Ruso v. Acertijo/All Star Surprised Phil missed the guy's name since they showed it on screen, but then, I can understand mentally repressing a name that close to "Russo". I thought this was pretty lackluster. Tierra, Viento y Fuego/Pierroth Jr./El Supremeo v.Americo Rocca/Gran Cochiese/Aguila Solitaria Yeah, the Cochisse armdrag was cool, but that's it. I didn't even really like Pierroth in this. Ciclon Ramierez/Javier Cruz/Blue Demon Jr. v. Hombre Bala/Pirata Morgan/Hijo Del Gladiator OK, this is definitely the same match from EMLL 1989 Vol 1 Disc #2/Bob's 80's #1, and unlike the other repeat match, my opinion on this didn't change at all. SKIPPABLE. Popitekus/Angel Azteca/Steve Nelson v. Emilio Charles Jr./Gran Markus Jr./Masakre Yeah, this was a blast. Nelson ruled it here with the slick matwork, and Emilio gave it right back to him. Popi was a bunch of fun, and I must give props to the always spectacular Angel Azteca as well. Solid nomination. Atlantis/Rayo Del Jalisco/Lizmark v. El Faraon/Super Halcon/Cien Caras I was starting to get a sense of deja vu on this one, too, before I remembered that I was thinking of the match where Halcon turned on Rayo. And well, this wasn't even as good as that.
July 21, 201213 yr comment_5510698 Comando Ruso & Panico vs. Acertijo & All-Star (6/11/89) This was blah. Pierroth/El Supremo/Tierra, Viento, y Fuego vs. Aguila Solitaria/Gran Cochise/Americo Rocca (6/11/89) This was decent at best. Blue Demon Jr./Ciclon Ramirez/Javier "El Monarca" Cruz vs. Hijo del Gladiador/Hombre Bala/Pirata Morgan (6/11/89) Again decent at best. Angel Azteca/Popitekus/Steve Nelson vs. Emilio Charles Jr./Gran Markus Jr./Masakre (6/11/89) POPITEKUS YAY!!!!!! Nelson & Emilio had some really fun exchanges here on the mat so Popi & Markus came in and had a different style of exchange as they did some fun big man spots. Azteca & Masakre both brought some solid action here as well being the glue for the match. Popi being great here though put this over the top for me and this moves forward fairly easily. Atlantis/Lizmark/Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs. Cien Caras/El Faraon/Super Halcon (6/11/89) This is more of an angle with Caras & Halcon turning on Faraon.
