Curt Hennig/Michael Hayes The opening of this was pretty disappointing. Hayes usually looks and feels super energetic, but he looked lethargic as fuck here and even Gordy came across really flat footed early. I did like Hennig's jig though. This is also oddly clipped up with a huge portion of the heat section missing. What is shown is okay, but this nowhere near as good a match as it looks like on paper. Road Warriors v. Dru Tossel/Nacho Barerra Decent squash. Post-match promo is entertaining. Sarge promo Sgt. Slaughter v. Mike Moore Quick Slaughter squash followed by the Gagne training segment we have already. Sgt. Slaughter/Greg Gagne v. Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens Larry is in the corner of the heels and demands his title back from Sarge pre-match leading to an opening brawl. They do a weird spot with Sarge pressing Gagne and using his knee on the impact which looked really shitty. Damn another match eaten alive by clipping during the heat section. Larry ends up hitting the ring for the DQ. Post-match Sarge interview was fun. Sarge v. Larry Zbyszko We have this already Clips of Sarge winning a battle royal Sgt. Slaughter v. Larry Zybyszko We have this already Battle Royal Braid Rheingans v. Boris Zhukov We have this already Sgt. Slaughter v. Boris Zhukov/Chris Markoff We have this already Promo's with Andre/Hogan and the Heenan Family Ken Patera/Bobby Duncum/Bobby Heenan/Nick Bockwinkel v. Hulk Hogan/Andre The Giant JIP. Trying to remember if I've seen this already or not? Anyhow this is interesting to watch because Hogan works FIP. He gets trapped in the heel corner after they attack his arm and they actually isolate him and work the shit out of it. Not something you expect to see out of Hogan even from this period but the crowd was super into it. Andre's hot tag was well done and the heels just come in and pinball like crazy for him. This was good fun. Hulk Hogan v. Nick Bockwinkel I feel like I've seen this before but it's not nominated so I decided to watch it again. Really like the opening with Hogan pinballing Bock everywhere and the stuff out of the bearhug was actually shockingly compelling. Bock really bumped big in this and I liked how he targetted the eyes as sort of his best hope to survive. They do a great job in this match teasing that Bock is done and feeding the Hulk Up spots which get shot down time after time. Hogan ends up busted open from Heenan and they do a bit with Hogan "winning" and getting DQ'ed after using the foreign object that had been tossed into the ring by Heenan. Not as good as their Super Sunday match, but something that I enjoyed.

Not as good as their Super Sunday match, but something that I enjoyed. This was one year almost to the day before Super Sunday. They let Hogan leave the ring with the belt and took it away in the dressing room afterwards. You may have seen clips of this on one of the Raw Footage tapes, or maybe the Heenan in the AWA discs. I think these were cobbled together from some of the AWA Commercial releases, so the clipping on the amtches was done on the comm. tapes...at least that's how I remember it. Also, Freebirds vs. Curt Hennig-Michael Hayes...Hayes was actually....?
