That may be the only part of the promo that it an obvious work. Considering Cornette's famous story about the big anti Dudes sign in the crowd and Johnny's comment when they were in the locker room (I'm at work, so I'll refrain from actually quoting it).

Also, Honky Tonk Man early in his WWF run is the first babyface I ever saw get booed soundly. I know it happened before that at times, but it really happened with HTM in a big way. Not sure how much of that was smarkish, though.

August 19, 201114 yr comment_5480124 The saga continues: Pretty much all the signs are pointing to HHH as the mastermind, but it's so obvious that it has to be a red herring. Or maybe that's what the WWE expects everyone to think, so they'll swerve us by having HHH really be behind everything.
