Posted August 10, 201114 yr comment_5479249 Gran Hamada/Mens Teoh/Shoichi Funaki v. Gran Naniwa/Tiger Mask IV/Super Delphin This felt really by the numbers. I rather enjoyed one of the early Teoh and Delphin exchanges and the heat section on Naniwa was perfectly fine, but there was nothing in the action that really grabbed me. Teoh looked good again during the near fall/dive segment at the end but overall this was just sort of there. Hayabusa/Jinsei Shinzaki vs. Yukihiro Kanemura/Mr. Gannosuke JIP. This almost immediately goes to floor brawling with guys taking flying bumps into the chairs and Kanemura hitting his table dive on Shinzaki. They end up spiking Shinzaki and working him over as a face in peril which is not all that compelling though the hot tag worked pretty well and the subsequent run of offense from Shinzaki and Hayabusa looked good. Kanemura took some really nice bumps down the stretch and I thought the finishing run was pretty hot and reasonably well paced. Jinsei Shinzaki vs. Yone Genjin Brief clip. Men's Teioh/Shoichi Funaki/Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Gran Hamada/Masato Yakushiji/Naohiro Hoshikawa JIP. I was interested to see Tajiri here and he looked good. On the defensive he bumped well, took the other teams offense great and generally looked like he fit. On the offensive he was stiff and hit some cool looking shit. The near fall segment was decent and led to a stereo dive spot that left Funaki and Hamada alone in the ring. Funaki's bump for the top rope rana from Hamada fucking ruled it. Another cool dive sequence and they go into a neat segment with Yakushiji throwing out rana attempts only to be caught in submissions the first of which was broken up and the second of which was the finish. This was the first match to feel like a real "MPro" style match. Not sure how much was missing on the front end of this and it was far from perfect but this feels like a good baseline nomination to get things rolling. Super Delphin/Hayabusa vs. Tiger Mask IV/Gran Naniwa JIP. Starts with the heels doing the nut standing spot on the faces which I am sure to be totally sick of by the time I am done watching this MPro stuff. This had some decent looking shit, but also some horribly blown shit and I don't think anyone looked particularly good, though Delphin seemed the most on point. Assisted Tornado DDT from a Devastation Device position was a cool spot though. Magnum TOKYO vs. Tony Rivera JIP. This is from an Ultimo Dragon trainee show. Kind of novel to see on account of how green these guys were. Not much of this is shown but for spot heavy wrestling this was well done. Shiryu/Kendo/Tsubasa vs. Black Warrior/Violencia/Rey Bucanero This was in full and was a real change of pace. This was another match from Ultimo's mini-promotion and there is some crazy shit in this. Cool twisting rana's, massive monkey flip and face plant bumps to the floor, some huge dives. Finish was really out of nowhere but I would almost consider throwing this on the dock anyhow had it had a bit more meat. Plus there is the fact that this may not qualify given the fact that it was in an Ultimo Gym ring. Ultimo Dragon vs. Dr. Wagner, Jr. JIP. Another Ultimo Gym match. This was just a stretch run really and was pretty egregious finishing trading stuff. Probably the worst thing on this disc, certainly the least interesting.
