Road Warriors v. High Flyers

We have this already

Larry/Curt Hennig v. Mr. Saito/Nick Bockwinkel

We have this already.

Larry Zbyszko v. Scott Hall

There are times when Larry's stalling act works and builds heat and makes you really want to see him get his ass kicked. And then there are matches like this where Larry's stalling makes you want to fast forward. Really tedious match. Wouldn't call it awful, but Hall was too green to really make Larry pay in a way that made you believe. You could also tell this was going to a draw pretty much immediately.

Jerry Blackwell v. Michael Hayes

Hayes schtick is ten times better than Larry's and far more engaging. Love the way Blackwell just stands at center court while Hayes struts around and moonwalks, then decks him on the first lock up and does his own strut to a huge pop. Blackwell screaming "come on boy!" at Hayes was also aces. At this point I was ready to fall in love with this, but the match sort of stalls there. Blackwell and Hayes toppling over on a bearhug was a low point though they recovered well enough. They eventually get to a point where Hayes throws some great punches that Blackwell sells really well. Hayes control is uninspired but I was amused by Blackwell's fired up comeback. The best parts of this I loved, but the bulk of this was disappointing.

Baron Von Raschke v. Buddy Roberts

Buddy running from the claw off of a criss cross spot was cute. Buddy was a fun enough heel, Baron took an unexpected nutty bump, blade off a claw. Eh. This was watchable.

Larry Zbyszko v. Steve O

We have this already.

Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens v. Greg Gagne/Curt Hennig

The early going of this is really great face shine stuff. Stevens and Bock are both great bumping and stooging around for the faces who show tons of fire. The way Bock sold was particularly impressive and the crowd goes fucking nuts for the axe smash and the Gagne sleeper. Also some really cool stuff with heel tactics used against the heels, almost taunting tag attempts where the heels are just dragged off at the last second and the transition to Greg in peril is well built to and well executed. Crowd goes nuts when Bock locks on a sleeper and they do a really good job with a cool comeback spot off of a Gagne sleeper that Bock reverses out of. Gagne takes a couple of nice bumps one over the top and the other to the post and the heels go to work on his arm. Greg throws a nasty chop that Nick sells perfectly before cutting off Greg and pushing him into the heel corner. At this point I realize this is a front end of a match we have in part elsewhere. This is great shit and moves from a Solid Nomination to an Easy one.
