So, it's official -- September 24, I'll be on the road to a new life in a new place, as I'm moving to New Jersey. I looked at Mapquest to see the best route to take, because I'd really like to drive through the mountains and along the coast, if only briefly. I'm coming from Arkansas, and I'm willing to split the trip up over two days. Anyway, Mapquest says it's a 1200 mile drive, and I'm willing to take a bit longer trip if I'll get to see more on the way, and I was wondering if anyone familiar with the area can recommend a good route. I was going to take the Mapquest route, but that would suck -- it would basically be Arkansas, Tennessee, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey. Yeah, THAT'S fun. I'd love to go through DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia if it wouldn't set me back and make the trip impossible to make in just a few days. Maybe if there's a website that shows the scenic route one can take instead of just the most direct way, that would be helpful. Any ideas? Thanks.

You're going from Arkansas to New Jersey?

Take whatever highway goes east and get on I-95 and go right up the coast. If you want to go through Baltimore, DC, and a few other cities then that's the way to go. It'll take a while but you'll see a bunch of stuff.

Loss should go on a NMB US tour. I think 95% of the board lives in PA, MD, and the NYC area.

If he feels like an 8-10 hour drive one day, he can come here to Ottawa. We can go to a Canadian Pro Wrestling indy show. He'll get to see Carl Ouellette again!

Looks like Some Guy's suggestion is the one I'm taking. But since I drive a nearly six-year old Toyota Echo with 108,000 miles on it, I'm afraid to drive through the Smokies, and since my best friend isn't going to be able to make the trip with me, I'm more concerned with just getting there quickly. So this is basically the route I'm taking, seeing lots of the US I haven't seen before:

Little Rock, AR --> Memphis, TN --> Tupelo, MS --> Birmingham, AL --> Atlanta, GA --> South Carolina --> North Carolina --> Virginia --> DC --> Maryland --> Pennsylvania --> Delaware --> New Jersey

If anyone sees a confused guy trying to read a map, drink a bottle of water and drive at the same time going frantically across the Eastern side of America on Labor Day weekend, wave at me. I'll try to wave back.

You can wave while juggling a map, bottle of water, and drive? Wow...shame I live in MA or I'd keep an eye out for ya :P
