So cool we get to see another version of this classic matchup. Excellent match with long very cool matwork opening, some big dives by both guys and big bumps by Espanto, and a crazy final fall with the crowd going totally bonkers at the near falls. I loved the little kids running into the ring when Santo and Espanto were selling outside on the floor. Really loved Espanto's somersault bumps.

UWA Lightweight Title: Espanto Jr. © vs. Hijo del Santo (4/10/88)

I always loved Santo being carried to the ring on guys shoulders and then you get a fucking load of kids in the ring who are loving on him like a god. This is simply awesome. Espanto gets carried into the ring as well by guys and this spectacle is fantastic. The matwork here was excellent as these two guys had great chemistry and everything looks so crisp. Santo was hitting his stride here as one of the best workers in the world and Espanto was hanging right with him and definitely made me want to see more of him. When it came time for the match to step up in intensity these two delivered in spades as they went all out on diving and bumping with the crowd going apeshit. The work here overall was probably even better than the hair match although it doesn't have the blood but goddamn was this great. Slam dunk nomination no doubt.
