He puts over Jesse's body and then gives him a Kimona. Okerland calls it a smoking jacket and Saito corrects him. Then Ventura holds up a board or two and Saito tries to break it with his head but fails twice. Okerland and the crew laugh their asses off. EXTRA Verne gives a promo about the rules of wrestling going deep into amateur rule differences which amuse me. Then he announces that Dr. D is indefinitely suspended. Jim Brunzell v. Rocky Stone Decent showcase squash. Heenan/Bock promo. Bock teases the announcement of a partner. Mr. Saito v. Buddy Lane Trongard getting confused about what to call Saito's salt ceremony was hysterical. Some of the stuff in this was really neat. Lane is good as a semi-competitive opponent who you can buy giving Saito trouble. Really liked Saito's leg trip take down. Saito finally unloads with double thrusts, his standing punch to downed opponent and the Saito suplex for the fall. Jesse Ventura promo. This is the replay of the previous promo that was bloopered. EXTRA Buck Zumhofe v. Jake Milliman 2/3 Falls I usually like Milliman a good bit he seemed off here like he was a step early on everything and really telegraphing stuff. Buck was Buck. This was okay. High Flyers promo talking about various challengers. Buck Zumhofe promo Bock promo. Bock announces Blackwell as his mystery partner for a match v. Mad Dog and Crusher. Blackwell is shirtless on which is semi-shocking. Mad Dog Vachon v. Nick Bockwinkel JIP. We have this elsewhere. Mad Dog promo/Crusher promo. Greg Gagne v. Rooster Griffin Nothing to see here. High Flyers promo about getting rid of Adnan Steve Regal v. Carson This was pretty good. Carson was fun sauntering around and getting in some limited offense. Regal actually looked semi-electric for once. Not a bad studio squash. Blackjack Mulligan pre-tap sent in to Minnesota. Mulligan says he's a hired hand for Bock v. Mad Dog and the Crusher. Calls out Lanza for going soft. This is pretty good. EXTRA Bock promo talking about the pre-tape. Mad Dog/Crusher promo Billy Robinson/Brad Rheingans promo. This is amusing to me for some reason. Buck Zumhofe promo Ken Patera wins in an easy squash over Black Panther. Verne promo. Verne celebrates the signing of Lou Holtz as Minnesota head football coach which as a South Carolina fan I found hysterical Blackjack Lanza promo Mr. Saito/Jesse Ventura v. Baron Von Raschke/Kenny Jay Pre-match Saito does the wood breaking with the head gimmick. Kenny Jay uses Ventura's beard against him early. Baron does the most egregious no sell of Saito's fallling punch god damn does it piss me off. Naturally Jay ends up getting his ass kicked but god damn Baron sell something. Baron comes in and starts beating on Saito while Jay just sits hanging upside down in the tree of woe position. Ventura gets his ass kicked by Baron. Ref throws the match out and Saito comes in with a board and smashes Baron in the head with it. Heels double team the Baron who is now selling as I guess the whole thing was a way to set up an angle with him. Brunzell eventually makes the save but gets salt in his eyes. Gagne finally hits the ring to save them. Wally Karbo cuts a promo afterward and says he's planning a way to punish Saito. Ventura and Saito show back up. Jesse correctly points out that the Baron was the cheating bastard in the previous match. Karbo shows back up with Greg Gagne who comes back out and cuts a promo setting up a High Flyers feud with Saito/Jesse. EXTRA
