Features the Huracan Ramirez farewell match from Monterrey against Los Misioneros de la Muerte. Matches are from approx. 1989 - 1990.

Plaza de Toros Monumental:

1. Justiciero Vengador vs. El Perverso

Fun but short 1 fall match. I *think* Perverso is the future Angel Mortal, but not totally sure. He throws a lot of really great strikes here, just punching and chopping Vengador all over the ring. Vengador does a lot of cross chops and match ends with Perverso kicking Vengador low. Really like Perverso and would love to see more of him, just a great brawling/bumping rudo.

2. Bello David & Rudy Reyna vs. Centurion Negro & Chamaco Maravilla

Super fun match. It's a grainy handheld, so it's kind of hard to tell who's who (Reyna and David looked almost identical body-wise and hair-wise, they just had different colored trunks, and I'm pretty positive Negro is the only guy here in a mask), but this was a blast. The exoticos were SO good here, just awesome comedy, super fast bumping (they take armdrags so fast it made my head spin), just great work overall. First fall was worked as if it was a 1 caida match, with comedy spots building into faster work and nearfalls, but turns out it is 3 falls and rudos come back and win the 2nd and 3rd. Rudos are just really really great here, working some lightning fast segments, busting out random cool offense (really cool press slam powerslam by one of the exoticos). Match was a real good time that didn't really build anywhere, but was 20+ plus minutes of really fun work and solid action. NOMINATE.

3. Anibal, Valente Fernandez & Hombre Increible vs. Sangre Chicana, Jungla Negra & Blue Fish

Kind of a listless paint-by-numbers match, short falls, nothing spectacular happening. A lot of slow mechanical rudo beatdown, 3rd fall starts to get kinda wild when Chicana tears Anibal's mask off, gets DQd, and then they have the wild pull apart at the end that is more exciting than the body of the match itself.

Taped 8/13/89 Plaza de Toros Monumental:

4. Enrique Vera vs. The Killer

This was not very good. Vera in the first fall had a couple really cool backbreakers and some cool roll ups...and then by the 3rd fall you realize that the only two moves he does are that same backbreaker, and that same roll up/cradle. That's all he knows, and he does them a LOT. MAtch drags a bunch with a loooong figure 4 spot from the Killer, and Vera just doesn't have enough

5. Jerry Estrada, Los Espantos & ? vs. Huracan Ramirez, Hijo de Huracan Ramirez & ? & ?

Match is REALLY fun but very clipped (the guy filming this decides to use all his nifty wedding video editing skills, so the match goes into random fades and edits and slow motions sequences that start to get super obnoxious after awhile. I'm very skeptical that one of these guys is the actual Huracan, as Huracan should have been in his 60s at this point, and neither of these guys move like they're old men. Both are super quick and work some nice spots. Espantos here are fucking GREAT, taking massive bumps (one guy gets backdropped into the ropes and it is NASTY). All the ? guys are really fucking awesome, too, working some super fast armdrag spots and one of the tecnico ? guys doing a NUTSO no hands dive over the top rope. Estrada takes some predictably big bumps over the top, but isn't in as much as you'd think, with both Espanto's carrying the weight. I REALLY would like to nominate this one, but I'm pretty on the fence, and it's a shame because the match itself seems really great, but all of the editing techniques really chop the match up. I would say the 3rd fall should go on as an EXTRA, but too much appears to be missing to go a full on nomination.

Despedida del Huracan Ramirez (Huracan Ramirez Farewell)

6. Huracan Ramirez, Huracan Ramirez Jr. & Mano Negra vs. El Texano, El Signo & Negro Navarro (Misioneros de la Muerte)

Really fun retirement that I think is a solid low end nomination. The 3rd fall was a little short or it would be a full nomination. 1st fall is odd as Missionarios take it, but Navarro legit knocks himself out in the first fall doing a missle dropkick. He does a dropkick off the top the same way you'd do a standing dropkick, and he appears to land face first and just lies there dead. He's clearly out of it as the ref and teammates are checking on him and he sits out the rest of the fall propped up against a turnbuckle. 2nd fall stars and Navarro decides he's OK to bump again and starts bumping big over the top. It's weird that Navarro is so great now, as he's clearly the 3rd best Death Missionary. Texano just looks awesome here, taking all of Huracan's old man offense (which actually looks very good), and Signo is a fat guy who bumps all over the place and holds the whole match together. Enough fun stuff for me to pass it forward. NOMINATE.
