Posted October 1, 201114 yr comment_5483816 Taped 12/1/1985 Plaza de Toros Monumental: Hijo del Santo & Black Shadow jr vs. Espanto jr. & Eskeletor Fun match highlighted by the Espanto v. Santo stuff, some good brawling and amusing bumps by Eskeletor, I liked Shadows punches a bunch as well. Doesn't feel like a top 20 contender, but there was plenty of entertaining stuff to nominate it. Lizmark, Mil Mascaras & Valente Fernandez vs. Sangre Chicana, Angel Blanco & Angel Blanco jr. Long six man tag with plenty of entertaining stuff. I hadn't seen Valente Fernandez before, but he had some really great looking ranas and armdrags and fun brawling with Chicana. Blanco Jr. took some big bumps, Lizmark was really graceful, and it was a neat chance to see Angel Blanco who very little footage exists of. Solid stuff worth a nomination El Solitario vs. Dr. Wagner (Mask vs. Mask) Famous match between two huge stars. Starts out slow, but they take it to the floor and it gets gruesome. Wagner smashes Solitario with a heavy chair and posts him, and Solitario sprays blood, rest of the match is an old fashioned lucha gore fest. Well worth a nomination if we can edit in a finish from the other copy. Taped 8/31/1986 Plaza de Toros Monumental: Hijo del Santo vs. Espanto jr. (Mask vs. Mask) I had no problem with the first two falls, first fall had Espanto doing some cool throws, second fall had Espanto taking the Fuerza bump through the ropes directly onto his knees, plus a Santo tope. Third fall was bloody and crazy and good. Not dissapointing, makes a set for sure. Taped 4/10/88 Plaza de Toros Monumental: Bello David, Rosa Blanca & Bello Guerrero vs. El Ninja, Aladino & Garcia I was entertained by a bunch of the Exotico shit, and the technicos had some moments, but lots of the stuff they did, didn't look good and this went really long without building to a crechendo. It had its moments, but a no go. Hijo del Santo vs. Espanto Jr. (UWA World Lightweight Title) So cool we get to see another version of this classic matchup. Excellent match with long very cool matwork opening, some big dives by both guys and big bumps by Espanto, and a crazy final fall with the crowd going totally bonkers at the near falls. I loved the little kids running into the ring when Santo and Espanto were selling outside on the floor. Really loved Espanto's somersault bumps.
