November 24, 201113 yr Author comment_5488874 Not nearly as compelling as the barbed wire match from the IWA in January, and despite all the build, I'm not even sure this match has the better storyline of the two. I think Funk is too old to really be an effective heel in this environment at this point, but the IWA match worked because he was more of a sympathetic old guy. I guess no one really goes overboard praising this match anyway. The highlight is in the post-match when Funk comes after Cactus and tries to set him on fire.
November 25, 201113 yr comment_5488959 Funk has a tremendous heel performance in front of an ECW crowd in a Pittsburgh suburb in 97 v. Douglas. When you get to that yearbook I will lobby Will hard for that match to make the cut.
April 29, 201213 yr comment_5501006 I liked Terry Funk's shirt that read "Cactus, My ass". What does that even mean? This wasn't very good at all. Cactus took a lot of stupid crazy bumps and the match ends in DQ when Sandman interferes? Was this one of ECW's random DQ's?
November 1, 201311 yr comment_5570064 Wasn't a DQ finish. There was a pin. I just think Jack is fucking nuts for letting Funk cut him up with a broken bottle. Also, FIREBALL, BABY!
September 11, 201411 yr comment_5623931 Meandering and not altogether compelling brawl. Raven and Dreamer were more energetic. Fucked-up finish too, with Cactus getting an anticlimactic victory. He gets caned afterward, with Sandman pouring lighter fluid on him, and Funk attacks him with the flaming branding iron again!
