December 24, 201113 yr Author comment_5490806 At this point, we don't see Goldust yet. It's just Howard Finkel announcing him with glitter spelling out the name.
December 24, 201113 yr comment_5490859 It's worth noting that nobody reported the actual gimmick before the first promo video with Dustin. Everyone was under the impression that he was going to be some kind of "Hollywood cowboy."
October 17, 201410 yr comment_5633817 Right, even though all us sheet-readers knew this was going to be Dustin, everyone was absolutely aghast the first time they actually saw him. There were several weeks of these announcement-only bits, and this had to be one of the longer newcomer build-ups the WWF ever did. It could have been worse. When wwe.com posted a bunch of prototype sketches, there were several of Dustin in Egyptian garb in a gimmick blatantly ripped off from Stargate.
