So, Carrie Underwood won. I watched like a clip of her final performance and if she didn't sound flat I must have hearing problems. She says she's going to stick to country or country/pop (Shania Twain, Faith Hill) and I'm thankful of that being that the small bit of her performances that I've seen haven't blown me anyway in the least bit.

I actually can imagine Bo doing better off this in the long run as he doesn't have the stigma of being THE American Idol but has proven he cang hang against pop vocalists. Similar thing happened over here with The X Factor (our new version of American Idol) where the winner''s album has been held off and just released recently because they wanted to really nail his album while the runner up group ended up releasing their record first and pretty much buried interest in the actual winner's record. It'd be interesting to see if Bo's greater cross over appeal much like G4's can squash Underwood's hype.

Bo lost, but it didn't really disappoint me at all, because it means he can avoid the career suicide that would have been that typically cheesy, mountain-moving debut single. It's totally not his style, and he'll be much better when he's not having to branch out and become something he really isn't. Carrie would be a lost cause if she didn't win this competition; Bo will do fine as the "moral victor", in fact, I think that will benefit him and contribute to the whole rebellious persona as much as anything.

Precisely.

As far as Carrie is concerned...I don't know what happened to her through the competition, but she went from having some of the best vocal control out of everybody on the show to having some major pitch issues in the last couple of episodes. Based on performances alone, she probably should have been canned before Vonzell or even Federov, but she had built up way too much momentum with her great performances early on.

Charles Barkley summed it up best. If you watch American Idol, which is karaoke, "yous a stone cold loser." My girl's entire family watches this show religiously, so family gatherings usually find me praying for the time when we can leave.

Barkley endorsed Shut Up And Jam for the Sega Genesis. Nothing he says can ever be trusted.
