December 28, 201113 yr comment_5491191 This was just after the Vader fight. You have to wonder what the heck the plan for Orndorff was long term if he hadn't gotten injured. For a guy at the tail end of his career, he really did quite well for himself between 93 and 95, and then he transferred it into the Power Plant gig that lasted another five years.
February 19, 201213 yr comment_5495275 Didn't pay much attention to WCW in 1995 so when watch this on yearbook set was just blown away. This is a fantastic entrance them and easily in my top 10 ever. I must have watched this 20 plus times on repeat. All the music seems to sound the same these days so I really appreciate themes like this that are different.
April 14, 201411 yr comment_5599203 This is like The Narcissist gimmick, only not serious. There's so many generic entrance themes out there that's it's refreshing to hear something totally different. For someone who often came across as being an asshole it's nice to see Orndorff having some fun out there.
August 13, 201411 yr comment_5618584 That was ridiculously awesome! I love the simplistic structuring, it's somehow appropriate. Great find Loss.
August 13, 201411 yr comment_5618589 Heenan: "This is the song, ladies and gentlemen, that they played at Schiavone's third wedding." It's actually very eerily prescient of Spamalot's "This Is the Song That Goes Like This."
November 7, 201410 yr comment_5638510 Easily one of my favourite entrance themes ever. Agreed with this gimmick being a goofy version of the Narcissist, and a little humor makes the character work.
November 11, 201410 yr comment_5639195 Greatest entrance in wrestling history. And...uh-oh. McMichael just dropped a Warren Zevon lyric at the end of this. Don't start getting cool and respectable on me, Mongo.
May 4May 4 comment_6029732 Paul Orndorff vs Johnny B. Badd - WCW Nitro 9/18/95 WOW! I am totally the opposite of everyone else. I thought music was lame and entrance with mirror was meh. Pushing Orndorff late 95 when you’re the edgy product just felt like it ran opposite of everything they were doing in the main event. On top of that, this was a bad match. The first really bad match on Nitro. Basic Orndorff clobbering to start. The one redeeming quality was they both kept missing high risk moves which at least put over they were high risk. Wonderful misses a top rope splash. Badd’s comeback with the punches and clotheslines is so…bad! I have seen the Pillman/Badd match from the night before it is awesome. Johnny B. Badd looked like he never wrestled before here. They tussle over piledrivers. Orndorff reverses a sunset flip and sits down to win. Where’s Sabu?!? Where’s Eddie?!? This sucked.
