January 6, 201213 yr Author comment_5491806 Duggan traces his genealogy to Ireland, wearing a Notre Dame t-shirt and all! They show pictures of Duggan's "ancestors", who were apparently taped fist champions, which was to set up his taped fist gimmick. Fake Irish history with Jim Duggan. Only in WCW.
November 18, 201311 yr comment_5573130 WTF was this ? And this was used to build to the super annoying use of the roll of tape in upcomings Duggan matches. Yawn. And it was not even the most WTF segment of the show, as Hogan & Savage dressed as grim reapers in a cemetary was even more ridiculous.
April 17, 201411 yr comment_5599550 In a highly comedic segment they just decide to turn Duggan into a fighting Oirishman character. They already had the real deal in Finlay.
November 23, 201410 yr comment_5641258 You know this is authentically shot in Dublin because people are wearing Guinness t-shirts and the traffic is driving on the right. Jim Duggan's grandmother--Mad Katie Duggan--was a "wrapped fist champion" in 1902. Oh, and they both had a habit of giving a thumbs up and calling to the crowd. WCW sure has been heavy on sheer WTF segments of late.
July 8, 20205 yr comment_5922367 Duggan's grandma bears a remarkable resemblance to Dick Slater. And yes, I suspect the pub was in the far away land of County Fulton.
