I don't know where else this would go, and Texas All-Star seems to have been the successor to Southwest anyway, so....

Billy Jack Hayes Interview

He'll be in Chavo Guerrero's corner in the main event

Manuel Villalobos vs. The Hood #2

The Hoods are fun, but Manuel isn't terribly interesting.

The Hoods Interview

Oh, sweet! Texas All-Star inherited the old Southwest theme!

American Force Interview

Nick Kiniski is American?

The Hood #1 Interview

Or so I figure. "Here's Hood #1...*spins around*...and here's Hood #2!"

Shawn Michaels Interview

A special "Close-Up" interview where they talk at great length with Shawn about his background.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Al Madril

Madril and Black Gordman had attacked Gori Guerrero, prompting Chavo to turn face. He just beats the shit out of Madril here for a few spectacular minutes. Gordman runs in and manages to drive him off, but Chavo comes back out with a wooden plank and clears out the heels before cutting a great pissed-off promo. Definite extra.

Chavo Guerrero Interview

Chavo talks about Billy Jack Haynes being his tag partner, and mentions the bond they share, both having fathers who are in a bad way - Chavo's being hospitalized by Madril and Gordman, Billy Jack's having diabetes. I can't help but be fascinated by the fact that Billy Jack Haynes' dad being diabetic was a major part of his gimmick.

Madril/Gordman Interview

Standard heel boasting.

Terry Daniels vs. Louis Ramos

Wow, "Lowlife" Louie Ramos looked a lot different back then. Daniels looks pretty good, but there's some obvious miscommunication on some of the spots.

American Force vs. Gorilla Johnson & The Samoan

"The Samoan"...thanks for narrowing it down, guys. Nick Kiniski looks really terrible. Yeah...this was not so good.

Scott Casey/Big Bubba Interview

Casey is here to watch Chavo wrestle Dennis Stamp. Ironically, Big Bubba is not booked.

Chavo/Bubba Interview

They hype an upcoming match against the Hoods.

The Hoods Interview

They introduce Al Madril as the cornerman for whichever one of them is gonna be facing Chavo. You gotta admire the gusto with which these guys embrace the interchangable masked heel team gimmick, though the fact that they're wearing different colored masks here undercuts it a little.

Mike Golden vs. Kevin Collins

The Golden Boy makes quick work of job boy Collins in an impressive squash. He makes him give to the figure-four, but refuses to break it - even tossing the ref aside from the mat - before Big Bubba runs down from the commentary position to chase him off. Pretty well done angle, though probably not an extra or anything.

The Hoods and Al Madril Interview

Basically the same as the one above, except done in front of the studio audience and with the added announcement that their stable is collectively known as HAM (Hoods and Al Madril).

Terry Daniels vs. Rick McCord

This is an "elimination" match from the tournament for the vacant USA Jr. belt. Some good legwork by McCord, but this doesn't really excite me. This goes to the time limit, but apparently "elimination" rules means the ref has to pick a winner, and he gives the nod to Daniels.

Scott Casey Interview

Casey makes some small talk before announcing that he's come back to be in the upcoming two-ring 25-man $100,000 battle royale.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Dennis Stamp

Really cool match. Chavo gives a great performance. Loved his early headscissors work on Stamp. Then Stamp gets frustrated and turns it into a brawl, and they both lay into each other. Seems to be a little bit of clipping before the finish, which is awesome as Chavo suspends Stamp in the air with a bearhug for a moment before snapping him over with a northern lights suplex. A little short, and some clipping like I said, but still probably the best TASW match I've seen so far. I don't think I'd nominate it, but I could be persuaded to change my mind.

Clips from a Chavo Guerrero/Billy Jack Haynes vs. Al Madril/Black Gordman match from Freeman Coliseum set to "The Heat is On"

Chavo Guerrero Interview

Al Madril Interview

The match yields some really good clips. Then they show the great, bloody post-match interviews from Chavo and Madril, where they talk about how they're still the Texas Tag champs, and challenge each other to a match to determine who gets to the keeps the belts. Watching this and thinking back to his '87 heel run in World Class, in baffled why Fritz and the gang thought booking Madril as a face as long as they did was such a good idea, as he is just worlds cooler as a heel. All of this should go on together as an extra.

Jose Lothario & Shawn Michaels Interview

And now for something completely different: a quiet, soft-spoken, slightly insecure Shawn Michaels promo. Lothario talks about Shawn being his good friend, but never mentions that he trained him, which is slightly curious to me.

Al Madril, Black Gordman, & Mike Golden Interview

Madril and Gordman fire back at the "father and son" duo of Lothario and Michaels (well, Gordman's promo is in Spanish, but I assume that's what he's doing). Golden meanwhile talks about his upcoming match with Rick McCord, apparently based on which of them is a natural blonde (Golden accuses McCord of being married to Mrs. Clairol).

Manuel Villalobos vs. Gorilla Johnson

This is another elimination match in the USA Jr. Title tournament, and Scott Stacks clarifies that that means it's a 10-minute time limit match where the referee picks the winner if the time limit expires. Johnson is managed by The Honorable Armand Hussein, and seeing him again makes me very, very happy. He's kinda sloppy in his execution, but it's a fun sloppy like the Nasty Boys where it just makes it look like he's hurting his opponent more. The drop toe hold that sent Villalobos flying half-way across the ring was especially nice. But Manuel is still pretty bland, and it's not long before he takes over and gets the win. Oh well.

Paul Diamond & Shawn Michaels vs. The Hoods

Nick Kiniski has pneumonia, so his American Force teammate is forced to choose an actual American to stand in for him. He makes a good call, too, as Shawn shows an early aptitude for tag wrestling in this match, including busting out a few double-team spots that would become a regular part of the Rockers' playbook. Madril comes to ringside to rally his fellow HAMsters, but it doesn't do much, and they get DQ'd when he pulls down the top rope while Shawn is running the ropes. An interesting early showcase for Shawn, if nothing else.

Chavo Guerrero & Big Bubba Interview

They mentions that One Man Gang is coming in soon, and I get all giddy as they tease a Chavo/OMG match. Bubba also talks a bit about his feud with Mike Golden, which leads to....

Mike Golden vs. Jerry Tibbins

Tibbins is one of the saddest dudes I have ever seen in wrestling history. He gets an early adavntage as Golden is too busy showing off, and then does a cartwheel followed by a dropkick that gets about zero height and grazes Golden's hip with one foot. Golden quickly puts a stop to his overall awkwardness with the figure-four.

Mike Golden Interview

Stacks and Rapido get in the ring to talk up Golden's recent winning streak, and Golden brags about breaking three people's legs with the figure-four: Tibbins, Kevin Collins (they replay that angle here), and also Nick Kiniski, saying that his pneumonia from the last show was actually a cover. Kiniski is back, however, and comes out to challenge his claim, but gets blindsided by The Hoods. They hold him down while Golden puts him in the figure-four. Paul Diamond tries to make the save, but Al Madril comes down from commentary and cuts him off at the pass. Fortunately, Big Bubba and Shawn Michaels arent't far behind, and they manage to run off the heels.

Battle Royale Hype

Scott Stacks mentions that Kamala will be in the battle royale, and they play the same hype video for him that they used when he came into World Class. He also mentions several other participants, most notably Mil Mascaras, who Al Madril talks plenty of shit about.

Terry Daniels & Rick McCord vs. The Hoods

Not very good, no.

Al Madril Interview

They hype up a match between Madril and Lothario in Hern, Texas. Madril warns he might be late since he has no idea where it is, and that Lothario might be late since he'll have to swim the Rio Grande to get there.

Mando Guerrero vs. John Guzman

Another USA Jr. Title tournament match, or at least it would have been if at had ever gotten started. After Madril and Gordman smack-talked Mando pre-match, The Hoods come to ringside to attack him. Eventually, Chavo, Bubba, Diamond, Michaels, Madril, Gordman, Golden, and possibly some other guys I missed all end up in the ring, with the faces driving off the heels. Then Chavo cuts a promo about how Madril got his team, and now he has a team of his own.

Chavo/Madril Feud Recap

Includes some footage we haven't seen yet, including Madril and Gordman attacking Gori Guerrero and Chavo's subsequent face turn. Ends with them playing the "The Heat is On" video again, but everything before that should be an extra.
