MNM is one of the most creative tag team gimmicks ever.

More creative then Edge and Christian vs Hardy Boys fighting over Terri Runnels?

Speaking of Smackdown, wow I did not like Orton's promo at all. His RKO still looked pretty good though.

Considering that an ANGLE doesn't constitute a gimmick, yes. And even so, that angle, while leading to a "great" ladder match at No Mercy, was pretty awful, putting the focus on an unattractive woman instead of two budding tag teams.

Not even close to MOTYC. Seriously.

On another note, Hardcore Holly is damned good at hot tags. Anyone catch the matches between MNM/Hass and Holly a few weeks ago? He had some pretty damned impressive hot tags, including one where he busted out a hurrancanrana. Seriously. No hands too, if I recall correctly.

Well, a significant portion of the DVDVR crowd is calling Taker/JBL from Smackdown this year's MOTY for WWE. Anyone see it than can agree or disagree?

Caught the ending, so can't comment on the match as a whole, but it was essentially JBL taking every single one of Taker's moves (outside of the Tombstone, which is still being hugely protected) and kicking out, before an RKO killed Taker. Did a great job of putting JBL over as a tough guy and the RKO as a killer move (despite Taker kicking out of it at Mania, I believe?)

Anyone think that if HHH jobbed to Batista in the HIAC, then sent Batista off to Smackdown that:

1. With John Cena as the WWE champion and his strongest challengers being heels, HHH, the STRONGEST heel they have, has an excuse to get Cena to job the title to him and....

2. Continuing part of the first point, since all the challengers are heels and HHH being the heel champion, it forces the heel challengers not to be able to challenge for the belt, thus giving HHH a long run with the WWE title while building up the next face challenger...

3. HHH can claim he made a star in Batista, sacrificing his HIAC streak to do so, WWE would be more receptive to Cena losing the belt to him...

4. After this is done, there would be no face challengers without turning a heel face, because besides Cena who would have just lost the belt (and I doubt they'd do a long term Cena/HHH program), there is no faces that are strong enough to challenge HHH.

If this is the case, HHH proves once again why he's a genius politician.

Got a link handy where people are saying this?

I've read a couple threads where Taker/JBL is in the discussion (it slaughtered all other matches in the Best Free TV Match Of The Week poll) plus another thread where tomk of DVDVR thinks it was excellent, but not as good as Angle/Jannetty. Don't think I've seen the thread where people are calling it MOTY though.

I'm a little sickened when people get happy on boards when wrestlers are getting released by the company. It's like people are happy that these guys aren't going to be able to feed their families, just because they think they're shitty wrestlers and don't want to see them on TV. Hint #1, they're not likely to fire anyone they're using regularly on TV anyway, and the quality of the final product has never improved from getting rid of a bunch of guys. Hint #2, the reason they don't do mass releases often is because they're a publicly traded company and it sends the message to stockholders that they're about to hit hard times. That could wreak financial havoc on WWE, which in turns spills over to the wrestlers, the guys that we like to see perform. Hint #3, whenever we hear about them making cuts, that should be sad news, not great news, and it's normally taken as great news. Now I'm not saying WWE has some sort of obligation to employ the universe or anything like that, but at the same time, all the roster cuts are just a reflection of the fact that business still isn't as strong as it should be, and when wrestling is popular, everyone's piece of the pie is bigger. When it's down, it's nearly impossible for anyone but the absolute best and most over to keep a job. That's only a good thing if you're incredibly short-sighted, because the more wrestlers are released and paid less, the less likely new guys are to try to get into the business. WWE hates having to make releases and I hate it when they have to do it. It just frustrates me, because I don't think people who get all excited about it are looking at the big picture at all.

I recorded Raw on Monday. I've rewatched the Diva segment probably four or five times now. It's still a trainwreck which is why I'm guessing the ratings for that segment were so high.

I really like that black chick, Krystal. I'm actually going to vote this year to give her my support. I couldn't believe how big her jugs actually were when she took off her top.
