Posted January 12, 201213 yr comment_5492177 The Hurricane Kid v. Ricky Rice Holy shit Rice is bad in this. I have a soft spot for the guy because he has such a good dropkick, but there are huge portions of this where he fucks up basic bumps and ring positioning techniques that I actually didn't know were possible to fuck up. The finish of this is just unbelievably awful. Yikes. Solidat Ustinov promo. He introduces Tejo Khan by busting a board with Russian written on it over his head. Nelson his hilarious here. Then the Baron has a promo where he bashes the remnants of the board over his head. This is so fucking absurd it might be an EXTRA Nasty Boys v. Tim Patterson/Bill Anderson Ah this was disappointing to. Nasties are usually fun versus anyone. Not here. Ricky Rice and Nasty Boys promo. Rice is bad at this too. Nasty's actually come across as far bigger stars than they were at the time. Nelson keeps trying to get everyone to put over Tejo Khan Steve O v. Dennis Stamp Holy shit I am extremely happy this match exist. Pre-match a fan holds up a sign for Stamp that says "The Amarillo Assassin" which is just great. Stamp throws a fit like two seconds in for no apparent reason and Steve O drops to his knees in the corner? WTF? Really short and Stamp loses. Damn Big K segment. This is entertaining if nothing else. Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie v. Kevin Collins This was unbelievably bad. Wahoo McDaniel promo. Wahoo compares Tejo Khan breaking a board over his head to terrorism. Awesome Badd Company promo. This is their AWA debut promo. Diamond is comical in a bad way on the mic. Wahoo McDaniel/Greg Gagne v. Bob Orton/Curt Hennig God damnit this was crazy disappointing. The post-match brawl was actually better than the match. Orton looked really slow, Hennig didn't get to do much, Gagne was used poorly and this is the worst Wahoo performance I've seen from the AWA footage. Midnight Rockers promo The full Ustinov/Khan angle is shown here. This would be better for an EXTRA Sgt. Slaughter v. Mike Warner Nothing match Badd Company v. Midnight Rockers This is really interesting to watch because while they work quick in spots this is a much more deliberately paced match than you would guess. They eventually build to some really fun big bumps, double team spots, rope running exchanges, et but it's not a Rockers v. Rose/Somers match that just explodes out of the gate. The set up for Shawn's peril segment seemed a bit telegraphed, but I liked the heel control segment and the hope spot that Tanaka cut off with the flying forearm was a cool moment. Ref bump, Marty gets posted, Tanaka hits a nice thrust and a non-title win for the heels. This is a much better match on paper, but I think it is something people would want to see and it should at least get consideration. Rockers promo. Shawn selling the throat shot from Tanaka is fucking hysterical
