Posted January 14, 201213 yr comment_5492335 Ricky Rice v. Pistol Pete Pete throws the worst chop I've ever seen in wrestling a few seconds into this. I am actually not sure if it was supposed to be a disrespect slap that he botched or what but it was truly awful. Badd Company pre-tape Hennig/Madusa pre-tape. AWA mailbag segment RnR Express music video followed by a RnR Express ringside promo EXTRA Nasty Boys v. Kevin Collins/Houdini This was not a good match, but it comes across like a pair of white trash clans beating each other to shit so that is something. Sags almost kills Houdini at one point with a kick right to his face. Ricky Rice pre-tape Nasty Boys pre-tape Shawn Michaels pre-tape. This is right after he and Jannetty had lost the belts Tito Santana v. Nick Bockwinkel JIP. This is one of the AWA flashback clips from 81. I've seen this before. Really wish we had more early 80's Tito from the AWA on tape. The Big K segment putting over the Badd Company cheating to beat the Midnight Rockers. Actually the Big K takes credit for every heel act in the company. Curt Hennig v. Greg Robertson Man Hennig was a GREAT douche heel at this point. Every mannerism he makes in the ring is brilliant and gets this central fact over. Robertson is just awful and yet Curt takes a really sweet bump to the floor for him, before taking him out. Entertaining because of Curt. Ricky Morton/Wahoo McDaniel v. Solidat Ustinov/Krusher Kaugnoff The opening of this is kind of funny because the face team works a shine segment that lacks any of your typical razzle dazzle and instead consists of slow-mo, almost heelish cheapshots/choking/et. For some reason the announcers are calling the guy announced as Kaugnoff "Kruger." They tease a Morton FIP that doesn't go anywhere. Really strange match as the faces just steamroll the heels. Baron Von Raschke pre-tape Ustinov/Khan pre-tape Baron Von Raschke v. Pistol Pete I don't think this is the Baron match tomk is looking for AWA trivia segment Rocky Mountain Thunder v. Darrell Nichol Holy shit RMT was so fucking bad Billy Robinson v. Ray Stevens JIP, mat classic segment. Brief finishing stretch. What's shown is good. Another Big K segment putting over the heels and petitioning for Rocky Mountain Thunder to listen to him Curt Hennig pre-tape. Hennig's get up here is glorious. Shawn Michaels v. Dennis Stamp Jannetty comes to the ring with Shawn with his head bandaged. Stamp smells blood and attacks Shawn before the bell, but gets caught with a super kick and then a tombostone of all things. Shawn hits the fly fistdrop for the pin. Really short but fun. Greg Gagne v. Pat Tanaka I love Pat Tanaka from this era as he is a great combination of athleticism, schtick, technique and speed. This one starts slow with Tanaka bitching that Greg is pulling his hair, et after every exchange. They go to the mat where Tanaka uses heel tactics to gain an edge with a head scissors with Greg using various techniques to escape. Tanaka comes up selling his leg but that is really just a scam so he can get to the foreign object and take over on Greg. Greg makes his comeback and Tanaka takes a huge bump on a back body drop. Gagne gets on the sleeper, but Diamond trips him from the outside and Tanaka gets a near fall. Match gets tossed out. Lame finish, to a pretty fun match. Baron Von Raschke pre-tape. Curt Hennig v. Wahoo McDaniel Early going of this slow moving but it's still fun stuff as they are building heat. Hennig ends up taking a lunatic bump to the floor on a corner charge and then another crazy bump over the ropes. I loved Wahoo kicking Curt in the shin to put an end to his boxing stance bullshit. Hennig actually takes over on Wahoo with a vicious chop and they do a fun toe-to-toe exchange before Hennig drops Wahoo with a leg snap. Wahoo gets busted open and Hennig actually head butts the cut but Wahoo fires up and starts reeling off offense for near falls, including a great twisting outside/in suplex. Hennig wins off of a cheapshot to the gut and a slongshot splash wit his feet on the rope. Wahoo dropping the bullshit line post-match was great as was his demand of a cage match with Curt that I don't think ever came.
