Houdini The Baron shows up ringside with a baseball bat with an American Flag on it to make sure this is a fair fight. Honestly this might be the match tomk is looking for as Baron adds a lot to the match by being ringside. Houdini gets in some hope spots and near falls and the crowd really gets into it. Houdini gives up to the overhead backbreaker. Still this made me want to see a Baron v. Tejo Khan coward waves the flag match. Baron pre-tape. he's wearing a suit. Greg Gagne v. Pat Tanaka We have this already. Larry Nelson is setting up a big announcement with Verne. But Verne can't make the announcement. Verne does say it will the biggest TV event ever. Okay DDP/Col Debeers promo. Debeers is now with DDP Top Guns v. Wayne Bloom/Brian Costello Not much of a match. Manny Fernandez v. Houdini Jesus Manny just crushes him with a headbutt early. Manny is just awesomely violent in this, crushing this kid with everything, including a dropkick and of course the flying buritto. Ustinov/Khan promo Greg Gagne v. Mike Smith This was actually fairly entertaining. Smith worked as a big bully here and was really awkward and shitty at taking offense but the structure of the match was pretty interesting and I thought Greg worked hard. Verne Gagne's Celebrity Corner with Jerry Lewis Col. Debeers v. ? Decker Pretty violent Debeers squash which is exactly what you want. I Top Guns pre-tape. Hector/Mando/Chavo Guerrero v. Mike Enos/Krusher Khaugnoff/Tom Burton All these Guerrero tags are super exciting and so different than everything else on these shows that you almost want to nominate them all as a result. At least one spot a match is sloppy and even that is kind of neat as it always leads to something that is accidentally impressive. Burton takes an insanely awkward head drop at one point which pisses off Chavo who then stretches him. Enos takes a crazed bump off the ropes for a running Mando dropkick. I mean this is a messy match and I'm doing a poor job talking up it's strengths and weaknesses but it was really fun to watch. Finish double surfboard/diving splash was a sick spot. Wahoo McDaniel I found it very odd that they had Wahoo win with a flash chop pin here. WTF? Manny Fernandez pre-tape The Terminators v. Krusher Khaugnoff/Tom Burton Who the fuck were the Terminators? There get up is hilariously awful and the match isn't much better. Celebrity Corner with Don Rickles Magnificent Mimi v. Lori Lynn Already seen this. Madusa promo talking trash on Mimi Blackjack Mulligan/Bockwinkel Mat Classic Badd Company v. Todd Decker/Brian Costello Really fun squash. Diamond did a good job giving a little and making it look like a lot. Tanaka was vicious on offense and the superkick/german combo finisher always looks great.
