A ton of the stuff on this disc is not from the AWA and to be honest I'm not sure the name on this disc is right as I think I've already seen a Winnipeg #9 and this wasn't it.

Crusher/Greg Gagne v. Nick Bockwinkel/Bobby Heenan

JIP. We have this already but i watched it through again. This was actually better than I remembered though I think I would have it a hair below a nomination still.

Super Destroyer II/Greg Gagne v. Nick Bockwinkel/Bobby Heenan

This was actually a lot of fun. I'm assuming this was from the height of the Heenan angle with Gagne and the crowd was really hot for both him and Super D. AWA tag matches from this period have a tendency to go really long to the point where it feels too long even when it is a good match. This was not a super short match by any means, but it never felt long because of the pace they worked. They established Super D as the badass no one wanted a part of early, we got Heenan's wild bumps on the apron and cheapshots. Greg goes FIP and I don't give a fuck what people say he is a really good tag wrestler. The sunset flip and fall down on the bodyslam near falls were really well executed but simple spots that a lot of tag specialist don't do that well. I loved Heenan coming in and picking at the bones of Gagne and when Heenan tags in to try and pick up the scraps only to get wrecked by Super D it is an awesome moment. This is followed up by a really cool sequence where Bock has to keep saving Bobby from getting pined and gets his ass beat more severely each time. Meanwhile the faces take over on Bobby's arm, before bumping Heenan wildly into Bock who is tied up in the ropes. I was not a fan of the way Bock was just casually tagged in but the set up for the Super D turn at FIP was pretty good and the old khawk favorite with the face on the floor and heels keeping him at bay working him over to build heat worked really well here. Finish is actually really great as all hell breaks loose and Bobby decks Super D in the back of the head with his cast on a slam attempt leading to the heels winning. Post-match is great as Heenan comes in with the Weasel Suit to put on Greg. They have it half way on and Super D leaps off the top to break it up and then crushes the heels with headbutts from his loaded mask before they put Heenan in the suit. I can't even remembered if I've seen this, but this is something that should be given a real look.

Mad Dog Vachon v. Bobby Heenan

Brief match with Mad Dog selling a bit for Bobby's cast shots and Heenan running away.

Baron Von Raschke v. Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie

JIP. This is not the match tomk is looking for but the Baron hulking up on the floor and going into claw clench mode was pretty great.

Billy Robinson v. Rick Martel

JIP at about 7 minutes. This picks up with a neckbreaker from Billy and then goes into some other cool offense including his awesome backbreaker and a nice gutwrench suplex. Really cool momentum change with Martel throwing a back elbow and Robinson taking a huge bump over the top. Really liked the tit for tat exchanges that followed this up and Martel giving Robinson his own neckbreaker was a really cool moment. I also really liked the way they worked the headlock base with Robinson trying all these crazy escape tactics and Martel digging in deeper each time. The way they came out of the hold was nice as well and this was just a very well put together "battle of equals" type of match. Finish with Al Hayes pulling Martel's leg was a little telegraphed, but I still really liked this.

The name of the disc is correct, it's short on AWA footage by comparison to the others that are all Winnipeg, but I labelled it like that way back when and didn't see any need to change it. All the AWA bouts on there are from Winnipeg.

Which match is tomk looking for?
