The opening headlock work was nothing special but did look pretty tight. Manny whiffed on a falling headbutt which was a good looking spot. Really liked Wahoo's reverse arm wringer esacape thingy on Larry Z who of course complained of a hair pull. Heels take over on Wahoo when Manny STABS HIM IN THE HEAD. I have no clue what the weapon was but the camera angle made it look like a knife. Then Manny comes in and pummels him like only Manny can including a chop to the face that Lee Marshall seriously flips his shit for. Wahoo tries to make a comeback but gets whipped into the knee of Larry for another sick shot. Manny catches him with the back fist right in the face and hits a corner splash, but misses another allowing Wahoo to get the tag. Manny bumps like crazy and runs through a sick looking elbow from Zenk. Zenk hits a nice body press on Manny for a near fall and then all hell breaks lose. End result is Larry getting pinned off a Wahoo chop which was kind of uneventful but an appropriate ending for the match. Post-match Larry rightfully notes he wasn't the legal man. This was a lot of fun.

"Chief" Wahoo McDaniel & Tom Zenk vs. "Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez & "Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko (2/7/89)

 

There is a feeling out process at the start with the faces using headlocks but it isn't until Wahoo gets isolated by the heels and Manny using some type of foreign object to bring out the juice from Wahoo's head. Manny proceeds to just beat the piss out of Wahoo who fires back when he can but the heels double up on him when possible making it hard for him. Wahoo would eventually get the hot tag to Zenk who runs wild on Manny who is really solid at bumping for him before the 4-way brawl gets going. Wahoo would catch Zbyszko with a big chop to win the match and giving him a win on the new AWA champion but the problem was that Larry wasn't the legal man and he made it known that he wasn't legal. Finish was what it was but this was a really fun match and I'll push it on although I'm not as high on it as Dylan is.
