Fantastics promo

Destruction Crew promo. I love the AWA promos from this era with the lame random backgrounds. Bloom really was a good promo. I've always liked Enos, but in a way Bloom had more of an upside long term. At the end of the promo the buildings behind them get blown up

Doug Somers v. Nikita Koloff

Well of course I liked this because we got to see a Doug ambush including his standard cheap shot heel tactics, chops and short stop strikes that I really love. We also got a Doug back body drop bump and he pretty much takes that better than anyone. The problem is Nikita hit the lariat for the finish really quick on his second comeback so the match wasn't long enough. but this ruled while it lasted. Post-match with Johnny V getting his ass kicked too was fun.

Nikita promo on Larry Z

Larry Z reply promo in front of the Larryland airbrush. Larry shits on Nikita's dream of America. Possible EXTRA

Destruction Crew v. Fantastics

This is the Fulton brothers, not Fulton and Rogers. The shine segment they start with is pretty great as the Crew bumps well and the Fultons are good at lighting them up with the dropkicks. Jackie hitting a nice spinkick off a rope running spot was a pleasant surprise. Funny spot as Bloom stands up Fulton on a couple of shoulder blocs and calls for another so Bobby dropkicks him and then stiffs him with an uppercut. Fuck Bobby Fulton is doing rope walk armdrags in this too? God damn Enos takes a lunatic bump on his face off of a nice Jackie diving clothesline and then a huge bump on a corner charge. Fuck the shine goes on forever but they do a bunch of really great spots, including a crazy roll through on a powerslam attempt and another awesome spot where Bloom goes to cheapshot Bobby on the apron as he comes off the ropes and Bobby drops him with a right. Bobby ends up getting caught on a second attempt though and slammed/posted on the floor to go FIP. Really nice powerslam from Enos but he pulled up on the near fall. Bobby's Fip is filled to the brim with teased comebacks, but he sells well throughout and there are some very nice near falls. Hot tag leads to some nice double teams and bumps, including a cannonball spot by the Fantastics. Valiant jumps in the ring with a foreign object for the dq. Shine was really fucking fun, but probably too long and the FIP was far too short. But this was a good way to introduce the Fantastics and Blackwell making the save on the post-match beatdown makes me want to lobby for this.

The Trooper v. Rockin Randy

Quick squash

Akio Sato v. Jim Evans

Really brutal squash. Sato fucking kicks the shit out of Evans who tries to fight back a few times. Sato wins with a powerbomb.

Paul Diamond promo

Pat Tanaka v. Paul Diamond

I enjoyed Diamond's fire early, landing on his feet on the floor toss and coming back in to throw punches. Tanaka works his old head scissors/hair pulling after escapes bit here that he seemed to use as a go to. It's effective enough but he really milks it too much. The build to the rope running spot was fun and Tanaka running the ropes is always god like. Lee Marshall freaks the fuck out for the bulldog Diamond hits as a pay off which is probably a result of the rest of the match being really slow up to that point. Hey, another rope running spot this one ending with an awesome super kick from Tanaka. Diamonds strikes look really good here and Marshall flips the fuck out again when Diamond crotches himself on a corner charge. Then Tanaka hits a diving headbutt to his nuts as a follow up and I'm reminded that working over the balls is one of the sounder wrestling strategies if you can get away with it. Tanaka locks in a Scorpion and is using the ropes for leverage, then goes to a Camel clutch. Diamond's leg is out of the ring but the asshole ref won't break it up. Tanaka with a crazy body press counter off a Diamond offensive attempt for a near fall. Tanaka does his great floatover escape on a back body drop attempt and hits a sick German for a near fall but misses on a diving headbutt follow up. They go into a really good slugfest spot that ends with Tanaka in begging off mode. Tanaka with a lunatic bump on a back body drop that Bock almost has a stroke for, followed up with an insane bump off of a clothesline that Bock nearly dies over also. Diamond hits a really good superkick in the corner and then his gordbuster for a near fall but Sato runs in and breaks it up. man FUCK Sato for running in I wanted a clean finish. Last few minutes of this were fucking AWESOME shit from Tanaka. As a whole match this is lacking in parts, but even though I can't give it super high marks I'd like to see it on the set.

Diamond promo.
