Diamond asks the Trooper to team with him v. Tanaka and Sato Destruction Crew/Johnny V v. The Fantastics/Jerry Blackwell The beginning of this was a bit disjointed but there were plenty of cool spots, some nice right hands from Fulton and an interesting wishbone spot with Blackwell crushing Bloom's balls. They go to work on Bloom's leg and Blackwell gets some more fun spots in. Fulton ends up locking in a crazy octopus but gets decked with a sick lariat to the back of the head by Enos behind the refs back. Lame finish with all hell breaking loose and Adnan getting involved. Johnny V sucked in this but otherwise it was fun. Destruction Crew promo Nikita Koloff v. Larry Zbyszko Larry gets pissed off about eating a body slam and slides to the floor where he rips up a sign a local fan is holding. From there they exchange headlock work which is actually really well done and Bock is great on commentary putting over the details of what they are trying to get over. Larry finally breaks the hold with this infamous spin kick to the guts on the rope break. Nikita is actually really great selling the impact of this and Larry follows up with a nice gutbuster for a near fall. Larry follows this up with a front chancre/choke spot that he floats into a neckbreaker for a near fall. Larry ends up tying Nikita in an ab stretch and he is really great at blatantly pulling the tights on camera but in a way where you can absolutely believe the ref is missing it. Of course Nikita reverses out with a hip toss, but Nikita is back to selling and Larry is right back to work. They are really good about teasing Nikita comebacks in this and he gets a very good near fall on a small package. Nikita makes a brief flurry comeback and gets a near fall on a nice suplex but crashes into the turnbuckles on a corner charge. Really great near fall as Nikita hits the Russian Sickle out of the corner but is slow getting to the cover and Larry just barely lifts his shoulder. Larry is reeling now and after an atomic drop slides to the floor and smacks Nikita with the belt to save the title. Very simple, but very good match even with the bad finish. Nikita post-match promo Diamond/Trooper promo Tommy Jammer v. W.T. Jones Jones is a comical jobber as he's really stiff and sometimes sloppy but always entertaining. Strange little match here. Larry Z promo The Unknown Solider v. Mike Enos JIP. Solider steals the win on a roll up. Pretty decent from what was shown. Frankie Defalco v. Johnny Stewart Man alive Chris Candido and Johnny Stewart are damn near the same wrestler. Super fun little squash. Defalco gets a lot in and Stewart wins with his jumping knee thingy. Finishing run of Tanaka v. Diamond from a frew weeks back is shown Destruction Crew v. Rockin Randy/Jim Evans Epic DC asskicking. Destruction Crew promo firing Johnny V The Trooper/Pal Diamond v. Akio Sato/Pat Tanaka Man Wilkes is so green here he almost looks shocked when Sato hits a double fist to his face that looked pretty damn stiff. I really want to see Tanaka more than any of these other guys but in the early going his biggest contribution is getting decked by Diamond while he's on the apron. Heels isolate Diamond and go to work on his leg and that becomes the story of the match. I'm not going to lie and say I didn't want some big Tanaka spots, but this was well done tag work. Tanaka hits a great spike DDT on Diamond on an attempted comeback, but Diamond comes back on the second attempt with an atomic drop. Finish is pretty cool as Trooper press slams Tanaka and Diamond gordbusters Sato onto Tanaka before pinning him. Well structured match albeit not quite what I had hoped for on paper.
