Destruction Crew v. Jimmy Magnum/Todd Becker

This is actually a fun match as Bloom really shows a lot of weakness early with the story being that the DC is trying to adjust in the wake of firing Johnny V. This causes the Crew to flip and take turns mauling the two jobbers including a totally insane Devastation Device finisher.

Diamond/Trooper promo

Yukon John Nord v. Bad Boy Brown

This is about what you would guess. Yep

John Nord promo.

Dave Casper v. Red Tyler

Now this was bad. Casper is like a more roided Dynamite Kid, but not fast and with no clue how to execute even basic spots. Tyler is not doing him any favors either. Terrible

The Trooper v. The Menace

Fun match for what it was. Basically a Trooper showcase

Trooper promo

Larry Z promo on the Unknown Solider

Larry Zbyszko v. The Unknown Solider

Larry is livid as someone who is obviously not the Unknown Solider has come to the ring wearing his mask. He tries to back out of it but Bischoff informs him he can't. Larry Z finally quits stalling, comes into the ring and lays into the "Solider." Solider makes his come back, takes off his mask and it is Mr. Saito. Saito slapping on a Fujiwara armbar was cool but it was kind of odd to see how it was used as just another hold. back on there feet and Larry hit his back kick to cut off momentum, but it doesn't last and Larry is holding onto the ref to try and hide. Saito locks on a Scorpion and Larry is screaming in pain. Saito hits his suplex for a near fall and tries to stay the aggressor, but Larry chucks him to the floor and then drops some tight knees onto his head. Saito knocks Larry to the floor and posts him and the match gets thrown out. This was good while it lasted but not long enough to rate. EXTRA

Yukon John Nord v. Jimmy Magnum

NOthing to see here.

Trooper/Diamond promo.

Destruction Crew promo.

Johnny Stewart v. The Menace

Short and fun match with Stewart getting in some fun offense and bumps.

Tommy Jammer v. Tokyo Bullet

The Bullet takes a fucking luantic high back body drop on the concrete. I mean a totally insane bump. Bullet really is great at getting contorted and bumping whoever he is. This is borderline nomination worthy until the botched finish.

Destruction Crew v. Paul Diamond/The Trooper

There are a shitload of headlock to rope running spots in this. I tend to like spots like that, but this may be a bit too much. This is also another match where the face shine goes on a long time, though Diamond gets in some nice spots and the goofier spots were pretty funny. Crowd really loved them in particular. The thing is I really do like DC control segments even though Wilkes was not the best FIP. Wilkes does take a massive bump on a double hot shot. Set up for Trooper comeback was way too long though. Match breaks down and they do the old wrong man was pinned finish. Post-match controversy stuff was kind of lame though it was one of the last major angles of 89 I guess. EXTRA
