April 27, 201213 yr Author comment_5500852 Ted Turner is at Center Stage! Flair does an absolutely spine-chilling promo -- seriously, it's awe-inspiringly great and probably one of his best ever -- which is hurt by the Center Stage crowd being very obviously prompted to maintain cheers the whole time. So the emotion and heat this should have generated gets negated by the non-stop cheers. Oh, WCW.
April 27, 201213 yr comment_5500860 Great promo that should have been done as a recording. The background noise really took away from the power of Flair's words. If this had been a pre-tape, it would rival Dusty's Eye for an Eye promo as one of my favorites of all time.
May 4, 201213 yr comment_5501671 Turner seemed pretty involved in WCW back in 94. Wow, real good stuff from Flair here. I still can't get over that he is the bad guy once Hogan shows up.
May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503435 That was the best Flair promo I may have ever heard. I was fully engaged. I'm impatient, hyper, and can multitask very well. If I'm fully engaged by a promo that means it's really, really good.
May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503486 Got chills listening to this. Flair was still on his game in 1994 and this is his best work to date.
November 14, 201212 yr comment_5520048 Great promo. Flair's comeback was disapointing, but as soon as the Vader feud kicked in, he showed he still had it and was better here than he was in WWF ever. It's interesting to mention Hogan's name has already been talked bout on WCW TV at this point, as he was filming Thunder in Paradise with Sting, which prompted the sleazy hotline pimping by Mean Gene saying "Hulk Hogan and Sting are tag teaming soon". Flair wanted to get Hogan in WCW to get the great program he never got to work in WWF. Little did he know...
March 9, 201411 yr comment_5592780 Okerlund clarifies that the Flair/Vader title match is back on. Horrible production that does its best to mask yet another awesome promo from Ric. Too many incredible lines to recite. Flair's on such a roll that you're almost ready to feel sorry for Vader.
April 8, 20178 yr comment_5796283 Yes, Pete, if Vader hadn't handed Flair his ass in a thousand pieces the last three times they met on the big stage, including Starrcade. That doesn't mean that Flair was bad here; on the contrary, this was a great mix of champ Flair and maniac Flair that I wish he'd gone to more often over the years. But Vader's been presented as so vastly superior in the ring that a few well-chosen words don't mean a thing. Hell, even leaving Vader laying may not be enough. Flair's going to have to cripple him to get even, which we all know he doesn't. So Flair asked for Hogan to come to WCW, huh? Talk about being careful what you wish for!
