June 12, 201213 yr Author comment_5506399 Last few minutes. Sure enough, the crowd is on Cactus' side. He eats a pin and he's out of WCW.
June 15, 201213 yr comment_5506629 Dave Sullivan was annoying for his involvement. Crowd not happy to see Cactus lose match and have to leave WCW. Rude, Steamboat and now Cactus gone.
June 28, 201213 yr comment_5508389 Poor Mick. His WCW career ends because of Dave Sullivan. Horrible.
June 28, 201213 yr comment_5508393 Bad way to leave, but obviously for the best. Like Austin, if he had stuck around he just would have floundered beneath the real Millionaire Club.
July 6, 201213 yr comment_5509406 While I think Cactus over exaggerated greatly how detrimental the commentary in the Cactus/vader match was, he was smart to leave as he has fitted into ECW like a glove. I have always hated the EVAD character and would hate to know he closed the book on me in a promotion.
December 13, 201212 yr comment_5522533 I wonder who thought Dave Sullivan was a good idea. The guy was a shitty worker, a shitty promo and had a shitty character made worse by teh whole Hulkamaniac deal. Cactus takes some really uneeded bumps here, for such a match.
January 26, 201411 yr comment_5582040 Good thing we put this on JIP. The full thing was sad to watch. Cactus does a huge plunge to the concrete from the top rope about 2 minutes in and is up and brawling about 20 seconds later. It should have been the final moment to send him packing. About 2 or 3 minutes later, he takes a back body drop on the concrete. It takes interference from Evad to send Cactus packing. What a shit moment.
June 4, 201411 yr comment_5605721 The action here isn't bad from what we see, but Dave Sullivan is all over the place. We do get a replay of Cactus' huge bump off the turnbuckles to the floor. Huge negative reaction to the winning pinfall, so good for the fans. Total bullshit the way Cactus was treated for basically his last year in the company, and in the end this was good for him, too.
July 4, 20205 yr comment_5922063 I've always thought that Kevin Sullivan has the look of a wrestler who should be doing bloody brawls in Mexico and this was the closest thing we get to that. They brawl all over the ringside area and briefly in the crowd before Cactus removes the mats that cover up the concrete surrounding the ring. As soon I saw him do this, I knew that he would be the one taking the bump. He takes FOUR bumps onto the concrete in this short match, all of them don't seem to affect him all that much. My main issue with this match is that this wasn't a no DQ match, and both guys openly go for chair shots in clear sight of the referee's view. Despite this, this was fun for what it was. ★★¾
October 28, 2024Oct 28 comment_6025417 This should’ve been a much bigger match than it was and given the sides in it, I was expecting a wild arena brawl and it was not. It was a brawl, but it mostly took place ringside and it wasn’t really as intense or wild as some of the other brawls both had in WCW. Dave Sullivan accompanied Kevin and I get why he was there, but his interferences didn’t cut it for me and I would’ve prefer they hadn’t taken place, but again, I get why it happened. Cactus took 3 ridiculous bumps in this, namely a body slam off the second rope to the floor. The finish was weak as Cactus ran into Dave by accident as Dave was scuffling with Kevin over a chair. Not memorable, but not terrible either, it just was.
