Posted March 29, 201213 yr comment_5498853 This is only a mild recommendation. We'll see how others feel about the finish and the rest of this Joint Promotions era. This match really surprised me. For a post-split Joint Promotions bout it was excellent. Roach showed more athleticism than I'm used to after his physical decline set in and this was easily the best match I've seen from the younger Steve Logan. Plenty of neat holds in this and some good big man/little man interaction. People are going to hate some of the bumps they take in WoS, and I have to admit that I had a hard time buying some of the bumps that Logan's finger locks forced Roach to take, but the big problem here was the injury finish. Injury finishes in WoS usually suck but this one killed the match dead. I don't see the point in feigning a serious accident. Nobody's going to think less of Logan for eating the pin they can all see coming. Might still make the Europe set as there isn't that much good stuff from '85 onwards.
