June 16, 201213 yr comment_5506741 Vince McMahon mentions how Skaaland had a great deal in building the WWF. They talk about Skaaland throwing the towel in against Iron Sheik. Skaaland threw the towel in to save Backlund’s career. Backlund runs full steam out to the ring with towel in hand. He flips out on Skaaland. Arnold apologizes and wants to shake hands. Mr. Backlund snaps and puts the Chicken Wing on Skaaland. Sparky Plug is out the break things up. He sure is asking for it yelling at Mr. Backlund like that. Good stuff.
June 16, 201213 yr comment_5506820 Jerry Lawler was really annoying during this. It didn't annoy me when Macho Man was talking during the Backlund interview from September because he was at least helping the angle get over. Vince is awesome in this interview, as he was in the previous one. He sounds like Backlund's dad or something, completely let down by how Bob has turned on all the people who used to support him.
June 16, 201213 yr Author comment_5506825 Backlund and Vince are phenomenal in this. Backlund cuts a scorched earth promo on Skaaland for costing him the WWF title. Arnold Skaaland apologizes for throwing in the towel and offers a handshake, but Backlund refuses to shake his hand and attacks him. This was awesome. Bob Holly scolds him for hurting someone (Ha!) and I was hoping Holly was about to get attacked on principle, but it wasn't to be.
July 4, 201213 yr comment_5509162 This was a really great segment. Backlund and Vince are awesome here. Backlund scolds Skaaland for throwing in the towel and locks him in the Crossface Chicken Wing. It's pandemonium again but with Bob Holly complaining to Backlund as an added bonus. Great stuff.
July 10, 201213 yr comment_5509769 Another wonderful Backlund segment with an out of control feel you just were not getting from WWF at this time. Vince's suit looks straight out of 1987. I enjoyed how lawler refused to help pull Backlund off like savage did previously.
June 17, 201411 yr comment_5607916 This really needed Holly to be chicken winged as a final exclamation point, but everything else was gold.
April 21, 20169 yr comment_5746950 Mr Backlund flips out on former PWI manager of the year Arnold Skaaland, administering a long overdue procurement. A decade of pent up frustration will do these things to a man apparently. It felt like a swerve him not attacking Thurman Plugg afterwards.
