So this is only the semifinals when I looked up the card after. Was this show really over 10 hours along? That must have been something to sit through. Ways to go for the winner still with Finals match. Couple times now in this tourney where wrestler has got someone up on their shoulders and then had to drop to redo the move. Love the spinning back fist blow by Kong. Kansai makes a nine count but Kong keeps hitting her and gets the pinfall. I’m curious how this whole was received by Joshi fans. It just seems like a huge challenge to put on a show so large in scale.

Yup. There were a fair # of 4 to 6 hours super shows leading up to this but yeah this was the mega one.

Live it was a huge success for the company but it was also the peak of the interpromotional era. After something like this you couldn't really top it and after 2 years of going to the well pretty hard on the interpromotional front it got kinda burned out as far as being something special in 95 or so.

Criticly for the longest it's been held in high regard as 1 of 3 must have shows (the other 2 being Dreamslam I & II) for someone getting into joshi. Bit of a double edged sword tho since some ppl would get them, enjoy them then not get any other or just very little other joshi. For a guy like me after so many years it got a little tiring for a while in a "hey guys, there's OTHER great stuff out thear too" sorta way. But that's a bigger problem and a subject for another time.

I liked this a good bit. It was a borderline great match with some awesome count spots towards the end. These two broads just stiffing each other is always great to watch. I enjoyed some of the early mat work as well. This was a very good to great match in the end.

Another good match between these two, big shock. I do love how they constantly call back to Kong hitting the insta-KO on Kansai in ThunderQueen. That's pretty much Kansai's kryptonite, here and elsewhere. Also I wasn't paying attention to this in the early-round matches but I like using an LLPW referee here--felt like a World Cup or college bowl game with the ostensibly neutral officiating crew.

Again and again I'm blown away by the stamina of the women in this era. The Toyota/Kong match was incredibly fast-paced, and an especially brutal bump from Aja on that reverse rana thing. And this just didn't let up much for 15 minutes. Then I look at the card and see that this was a semifinal, and Aja and Hokuto went 20! Joshi still isn't my cup of tea, but I will never not admire them.

They were both unsurprisingly tired so it only went 12m. I didn't like the start, it was too high powered even considering the circumstances. Then a short period of matwork before finisherthon. Basically they just hit all their big moves, which provided a fair bit of excitement if not a properly constructed match. Like Loss said it certainly wasn't their best bout, but it was a worthy contribution to the rivalry. Aja won with her 58th Urakan.
