Okay Hogan doing head fakes on Patera, drawing a line at mid-ring and then press slamming him casually into the corner were all pretty great spots. Faces open up on Paera's arm of all things and Jesse gets his ass kicked every time he even looks at the faces the wrong way. The heels take over by attacking Hogan's arm. Hogan actually does a decent job in peril, including one hope spot, before tagging out. Vachon quickly gets cut down for his peril segment and ends up a bloody mess. Match evolves into a pretty nasty bloodbath with Patera bleeding buckets and getting kicked to shit by Dog. Blackwell shows up on the floor and cracks Dog in the head with a chair twice and the heels steal a win. Post-match Blackwell tries to squash Dog again but misses and fans litter the ring as Hogan cleans house.

Ken Patera & Jesse "The Body" Ventura vs. "Incredible" Hulk Hogan & Mad Dog Vachon (1/16/83)

 

The fans are hot here for the Hogan/Vachon team. Hogan was fun early on just beating on the heels and showing tons of fire. Patera takes most of the offense early as Hogan throws him around like a ragdoll which was impressive. Hogan works FIP first as the heels work over his left arm and he does a good job here getting the crowd going before getting the tag to Vachon who runs wild with his unorthodox tactics pounding on the heels. Vachon would get isolated in the heels corner and they really work him over forcing juice from his head which adds to the match. Vachon although a bloody mess fights his way to Hogan and tags him in but he goes to the floor and uses a steel chair on Patera before bashing his head on the table which brings out the juice from him. Hogan is a house of fire here working over the cut before tagging in Vachon who really works over the cut and Patera is a crimson mask. Crusher Blackwell would show up at ringside and used a chair on Vachon from the floor and Patera would fall on top for the win. Fans throw trash in the ring as Vachon is getting killed but Hogan would come back in and cleaned house. Very fun match and should move forward.

Tale of two matches here. First half was solid but unspectacular with the heels working on Hogan's arm. Picked up huge with HOgan attacking Patera and busting him open. Still, that lasted for like 2 minutes before the flash ending. Wished it lasted longer and the first 10 minutes had the atmosphere of the last two. Can't pass this through.
