Posted May 6, 201213 yr comment_5501929 I'm working on an article on interpromotional feuds in Japan. Before I delve into how this compares to the US, where you had lots of regional monolopies followed by a tiny number of national groups, I want to make sure I'm not leaving out other places. -During its peak, did Mexican companies cooperate much? Do they now? -Ditto for the UK.
May 6, 201213 yr comment_5501936 The UWA worked with CMLL when they were about to die and there was a one shot CMLL vs AAA thing and that's about it.
May 6, 201213 yr comment_5501947 UWA was even closer to death when they worked with AAA in 1994. One of the highlights of the WON back issues lately is seeing that there's still a UWA section in early '95; I hadn't realized they were still chugging along then.
May 7, 201213 yr Author comment_5501950 So there's no real parallel between Japan and Mexico, good to know. What about England?
May 7, 201213 yr comment_5501952 Currently you have AAA and IWRG, IWRG and Perros Del Mal and AAA/Perros Del Mal.
May 7, 201213 yr comment_5501954 The UWA worked with CMLL when they were about to die and there was a one shot CMLL vs AAA thing and that's about it. The UWA began talent sharing and co-promoting shows with EMLL in the early 80s when they were still drawing well. They also had talent sharing arrangements with the WWF, NJPW and JWP. In England, Joint Promotions had a strangehold over talent for decades until the talent became dissatisfied and jumped to All Star Promotions. There was no cooperation between the two.
May 7, 201213 yr comment_5501956 There wasn't any on the British scene - Joint's monopoly pretty much kept any rival company from even starting until Brian Dixon/All-Star Wrestling.
May 7, 201213 yr comment_5501958 In recent times interpromotional cooperation has happened on certian occasions inlcuding the IPW/FWA coopertation in 2006 and 2007 which was booked so that the FWA would shut down and IPW UK would be it's replacement so to speak.

Thanks!
