Posted May 7, 201213 yr comment_5501989 Regal is escorted to the ring by Precious and Garvin. I hate Regal and don't give a fuck about Buck, but this is a good match. I am not saying we have to have one of their matches on the set, but if we do this is probably the one. Yeah Buck is silly but he is over as fuck here and Regal is more tolerable than normal. This match has a perfectly reasonable build to it that starts with Buck dropkicking Regal to the floor and controlling with solid headlock work. Lots of snap to his offense which is well executed. Regal comes back with a nice looking belly to back and though I am not a Regal fan his control segment is solid enough. Buck makes his big comeback to a huge pop, hits a nice dropkick for a near fall and then locks on a really sick looking Boston Crab but Regal gets to the ropes. Buck hits a nice roll up, but Precious claws his eyes and breaks it up. The ref is tied up with Precious and Gagne shows up and sprays Precious hairspray in Regals eyes as he goes for a suplex on Buck leading to the fall which gets a massive pop. This really feels like something that would fit on the set.
May 8, 201213 yr comment_5502126 Regal vs. Zumhofe was such an early 80's AWA fixture match they really should be represented on the set. This IMO is their most compelling match.
May 18, 201213 yr comment_5502816 AWA Lt. Heavyweight Title: "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal © vs. "Rock n Roll" Buck Zumhofe (11/28/85) This was probably their biggest match as it was on Thanksgiving night in St. Paul in front of a big house that was hot for the action. These two had a long series with most of their matches being about the same but this one felt different mainly because Regal wasn't dicking around as much. Buck was fired up here and the action was pretty good so yes even though I'm not high on these two this deserves to be on the set.
May 22, 201213 yr comment_5503308 There are certain pairings and matchups that seem like they *should* be represented on the set with at least one match because they really were staples of AWA cards throughout the 80's. This is one of them. This was my favourite match between them, by quite a bit.
