Posted May 7, 201213 yr comment_5502031 Adnan/Blackwell promo. Gene "some say you sold out to the Arabs!" Stay classy Gene. This may be on another comp, but really all the Sheiks promos from this era are pretty great. EXTRA Sheik Adnan Al-Kaisse v. Mad Dog Vachon JIP at about eight minutes. Action is actually pretty good considering who is involved. Blackwell shows up and interferes helping Adnan win. Bobby Duncum v. Hulk Hogan I'm annoyed this is clipped because while I bet we are only missing a couple of minutes at most, in a five minute match that's enough to knock this off the dock. Still this is an awesome fight. Hogan works stiff as fuck here after Bobby ambushes him at the bell. Hogan's selling is so charismatic it's absurd. Duncum briefly comes back with a crushing knee, but Hogan cuts him off and they get DQ'ed with about five minutes exactly shown. I would strongly push this for the JIP/clips section of EXTRA Jerry Blackwell/Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie v. Baron Von Raschke/Mad Dog Vachon JIP. This is actually on a previous disc I watched on Khawk's Blackwell set but I wanted to watch it again because it's been a long time. This is from Winnipeg but feels nearly as violent as their St. Paul match that ended in a mini-riot. Adnan does not have the best offense but man they just beat the fuck out of Baron in the most convincing way and his blade job and blood loss selling are really, really great. Blackwell is great as the tough guy and the big bumper. After Mad Dog cleans house for a minute, Baron comes back in fired up and locks on the claw and all hell breaks loose with guys just slugging the fuck out of each other. This is a little less than half of the match so I can't go in on a nomination but this would be another JIP EXTRA Karbo comes out and lays down the law on Heenan who is livid and joined by Patera/Duncum for an interview. Possible EXTRA Karbo and High Flyers promo Adnan/Blackwell promo. These are all awesome. High Flyers v. Adnan/Blackwell match that we have already Tito/Buck promo. Buck is holding up his destroyed boombox. The Baron emerges from the floor wielding the claw. WTF? Heenan promo. Hulk Hogan/Baron Von Raschke/Buck Zumhoffe v. Bobby Duncum/Ken Patera/Bobby Heenan JIP. Duncum sure did eat an asskicking from some of these guys. Buck comes in fired up and gets some offense in and then in a hilarious moment he goes for a crossbody and Duncum just bucks up on him and crushes him. Patera tags in, gives Hogan the middle finger salute and starts beating Buck's ass. Heanan comes in and man does the crowd just hate him. Bobby is awesome chocking Buck with his singlet and being every bit the dick you want him to be. Buck does this great spot where he tries to swim through a Patera bearhug for the hot tag but the ref misses it. He eventually gets the tag into Baron who comes in and is about as Baron as Baron can be. He and Hogan are just chucking the heels around and Heenan ends up in where he is fodder for Hogan. Buck comes back in to get at Heenan, but gets suckered by Patera and goes right back to FIP. Really good work on Buck setting up the big corner charge from Duncum which leads to the hot tag, but Buck quickly tags back in and reels off a string of really good looking dropkicks. Buck went for his huge Vader Bomb finish, but got decked on the way up and splattered on the ground and got pinned in a really cool spot. Then all hell broke loose, with Hogan stiffing the fuck out of Heenan. Heenan and Duncum bleed profusely all over the place as the faces dominate post-match. This is about nine minutes, with an extra three minutes of beat down. Not sure how much we are missing, maybe Kevin can give it a guess, because this makes the set if it is the majority of the match. Tito Santana v. Nick Bockwinkel We already have this. High Flyers promo. Amusing Sheiks promo with the belly dancer image in the background. EXTRA The High Flyers v. Jerry Blackwell/Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie We have this already. I passed on this as a nomination the first time, but I'll guess I'll throw it on the dock now because I could see Kris liking this more than me and it is a complete match. There is plenty of good stuff here, but my criticism about the faces controlling too much of a short match holds. Blackwell does do some pretty awesome stuff including a sick splash and some great quick bumps early. The finish with the heels fleeing after claiming they won is kind of confusing, but that was used to set up the angle furthering the feud which is another reason this should maybe appear on the set. Hulk Hogan v. Ken Patera/Bobby Heenan JIP at about 3.5 minutes. Probably missed only stalling. Matches is really short anyhow and basically a Hogan squash with Heenan bleeding a gusher.
May 8, 201213 yr comment_5502123 Hulk Hogan/Baron Von Raschke/Buck Zumhoffe v. Bobby Duncum/Ken Patera/Bobby Heenan I'm not sure how much is missing but I would bet we have more than half here.
