Posted May 7, 201213 yr comment_5502032 JIP. Duncum sure did eat an asskicking from some of these guys. Buck comes in fired up and gets some offense in and then in a hilarious moment he goes for a crossbody and Duncum just bucks up on him and crushes him. Patera tags in, gives Hogan the middle finger salute and starts beating Buck's ass. Heanan comes in and man does the crowd just hate him. Bobby is awesome chocking Buck with his singlet and being every bit the dick you want him to be. Buck does this great spot where he tries to swim through a Patera bearhug for the hot tag but the ref misses it. He eventually gets the tag into Baron who comes in and is about as Baron as Baron can be. He and Hogan are just chucking the heels around and Heenan ends up in where he is fodder for Hogan. Buck comes back in to get at Heenan, but gets suckered by Patera and goes right back to FIP. Really good work on Buck setting up the big corner charge from Duncum which leads to the hot tag, but Buck quickly tags back in and reels off a string of really good looking dropkicks. Buck went for his huge Vader Bomb finish, but got decked on the way up and splattered on the ground and got pinned in a really cool spot. Then all hell broke loose, with Hogan stiffing the fuck out of Heenan. Heenan and Duncum bleed profusely all over the place as the faces dominate post-match. This is about nine minutes, with an extra three minutes of beat down. Not sure how much we are missing, maybe Kevin can give it a guess, because this makes the set if it is the majority of the match.
May 8, 201213 yr comment_5502130 I think there is at least half here. I would give it the benefit of the doubt and include it.
May 11, 201213 yr Author comment_5502312 To be fair I would be really shocked if this was more than a fifteen minute match in total
May 11, 201213 yr comment_5502316 Of course you would!!!! I think Dylan is probably correct in his 15 minute match assessment.
May 19, 201213 yr Author comment_5502876 My copy of this disc didn't work. The plot thickens. Khawk sent me two previous copies of the 82 year in review set and they didn't play at all. This one did on my computer, though I never tried it on a player. Really annoying as this match is definitely something that merits consideration
May 22, 201213 yr comment_5503307 I don't know what to tell you guys. All of those discs played fine when I checked them before I sent them out on my computer and my dvd player. Perhaps at the end of the day you can send me a list of matches that need to be seen and I can throw them on a disc or two for you to review.
May 22, 201213 yr Author comment_5503321 I got all of 82 to play on the third set. This is the only match that can't be found on any other disc we already have IIRC
May 26, 201213 yr Author comment_5503996 Let's get some other eyes on this by any means necessary. I think this is absolutely strong enough for the set and we are light on 82.
May 26, 201213 yr comment_5504032 Hulk Hogan/Buck Zumhoffe/Baron Von Raschke v. Bobby Heenan/Ken Patera/Bobby Duncum Solid Nomination - AWA Year In Review 1982 Disc One - Zumhofe was really solid as FIP but when Hogan and Baron cleaned house, the heels bumped huge. It helps that you have the Heenan dynamic so the crowd can go nuts whenever it looks like he is going to get his comeuppance. The end was pretty out of control but with a weak ending. Bad ending but this was a blast with every guy looking good. Also, how weird is it to see Hogan and Von Raschke hugging in the ring?
