Posted May 7, 201213 yr comment_5502044 Mad Dog Vachon promo. The Christmas wreath behind him is a nice touch. Crusher as Santa is kind of terrifying. Rick Martel v. Jim Brunzell JIP. This has French commentary dubbed over. This is nowhere near enough of the match which is too bad because the work is very good. Mad Dog Vachon v. Nick Bockwinkel We have this already Crusher/Mad Dog Vachon v. Nick Bockwinkel/Blackjack Mulligan We have this already David Schultz v. Rick Martel JIP. Man Dr. D wasn't very good. Just saying High Flyers/Rick Martel v. The Sheiks JIP. We have this already anyhow, but there isn't enough here for a nomination. Jerry Blackwell v. The Crusher I passed on this before but I don't think we have any other Crusher matches on the set and he seems like a guy who we should at least consider even if this was years past his prime. This was probably a better brawl than I originally gave it credit for as Blackwell is pretty great at making Crusher's stuff look brutal and the spots with the bench on the floor were petty insane. Post-match brawling in the crowd and down into the back of the building almost makes up for the stupid as fuck finish. I wouldn't use a personal pick on this, but I can see the argument for including at least one Crusher match. Jesse Ventura/Mr. Saito v. The Crusher/Baron Von Raschke JIP. Awesome moment as Crusher runs over and grabs a crutch and fucks up Saito while the ref looks on hopeless. Ton of blood in this. Ventura takes a silly as fuck bump to the floor, then Crusher waffles dudes with chairs. Blackwell shows up and creams the Baron and the heels win. Wild but too short and too little to nominate. Promo with Crusher/Baron behind mesh fence Bock v. Martel finish of a match we already have.
May 8, 201213 yr comment_5502120 The Martel-Brunzell match exists in English and clocks in at about 12 minutes. Probably still not enough but I think that is more than the french version is. Jesse-Saito vs. Crusher-Raschke is a no DQ match. Ditto Blackwell-Crusher, if it helps make sense of the way some of the finishes came about.
