Posted May 8, 201213 yr comment_5502050 Stan Hansen v. Kevin Kelly Watching guys try to carry Kevin Kelly is actually pretty fun. Hansen's idea of carrying someone is beating the fucking shit out of them without even taking all of his gear off. Hansen crushes him with a piledriver and looks like he is going to finish him but Kelly briefly gets a lick in with a back elbow. Stan tires of playing with him and kills him with a lariat. Fun, but basically an extended squash. Post match promo is pretty amusing too. Nick Bockwinkel v. Curt Hennig I can't fucking believe we are still uncovering Bock v. Hennig matches this far in, but I don't recall seeing this before and I checked the Bock/Hennig comp and all the other Winnipeg discs and I have no review anywhere else. Curt opens up on Bock early, Bock bails to the floor and comes back in pissed throwing nasty uppercuts to Curt's guts in the corner. Bock goes to a headlock, which he works for a while, before Curt makes his comeback off a rope running exchange runs through some offense. Curt tries to work a chinlock but Bock goes to the eyes and slugs the fuck out of him only for Curt to come back with elbows. Bock cuts him off by tossing him to the floor and they do the old AWA staple with the heel playing king of the mountain in the ring by keeping the babyface on the floor. Bock tries one too many times and Curt opens up with some big shots and gets back in the ring. Curt gets a string of near falls and then locks on a camel clutch but Bock makes it to the ropes. I kind of liked the follow up as Curt opens up on him more and goes back to the clutch but then says fuck it and punches him right in the face instead. Bock comes back with a big shot of his own and they end up with this weird flubbed back body drop spot, followed by a double knock down spot. Bock tosses Hennig back to the floor again and tries to follow up in the ring with a piledriver but Curt reverses. Hennig comes back with some great punches and gets a good near fall, before going back to work on Bock's back. Curt is in control when Larry Z shows up and distracts Curt causing Bock to get a cheap knee and win. Post-match Curt dropkicks the two heels into each other. I'll nominate this because it was a pretty good match, but this was easily the worst of their matches an if we are leaving any of them off this is the one that is getting cut. Kelly Kiniski promo Ray Stevens/Buddy Roberts v. Jerry Blackwell/Kelly Kiniski This is such a fucking bizarre match on paper. Match is really funny as the whole thing is a set up for Kiniski to turn his back on Blackwell (literally). Blackwell is really the guy you want working the bulk of this anyhow, but the shine wasn't anything outstanding and knowing the build to the hot tag wasn't going anywhere kind of killed the otherwise decent heel heat segment. Almost worth it for Kiniski's absurd sell job of Blackwell' punch, but still this was not as fun as I'd hoped. Scott Hall v. Steve Regal Man this sucked. Expecting Mr. Electricity to carry green big guy was fucking insane. Yuck. Baron/Mad Dog v. Studd/Blackwell We have this already Rest of the disc is to tough to watch with the tracking aside from the interview at the end with the Russians. Doesn't really matter as the relevant stuff I hadn't seen is all covered.
