Posted May 9, 201213 yr comment_5502132 Chicky Starr & Ron Starr vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. & Victor Jovica (June 1986) Fun little face shine section to start especially when Huracan & Ron were in there together. Huracan would get trapped in the rudos corner and Chicky would come in to work Huracan over with suplexes before Ron comes in hitting a high knee for a nearfall. Huracan fires back on Chicky before getting the tag to Jovica who cleans house on both heels before isolating Chicky and getting the sleeper on him. Ron would come off the middle rope though with a knee to Jovica's back with Chicky falling on top to win. Very short match but fine for what it was. Mexican Angel vs. Angel Diaz (June 1986) Squash. The Invader & Miguel Perez Jr. vs. The Islanders (Tapu & Tio) (June 1986) This is way more competitive that most TV matches as Invader actually works a decent FIP section but the problem is the work isn't very inspiring and sometimes clunky. Miguel won with a nice powerslam on Tapu and this was decent at best. Invader III vs. The Crusher (Rip Morgan) (June 1986) Invader III uses his agility to frustrate Crusher to start including a nice hiptoss that Crusher sells nicely as he drops to the floor and walks around a good bit. Crusher comes back and starts choking Invader before using his power advantage to dominate Invader. Crusher misses a legdrop so Invader goes to work on his left leg immediately forcing Crusher to go back to the floor so he could walk it off. Crusher comes back in the ring and immediately goes to a resthold so I guess the leg psychology is over. Invader would make a comeback and had Crusher reeling with dropkicks so he immediately goes back to the floor and this is some Zbyszko type stalling shit here which pisses the crowd off. Crusher comes back in the ring and starts back working over Invader getting some nearfalls although Invader fights back when he could. Invader would miss a reverse splash off the middle rope but Crusher would miss his legdrop again although that didn't hurt him as he would hit a big clothesline to regain the advantage. Crusher would hit a modified version of the Billy Robinson/Sheamus backbreaker before tossing Invader over the top for the DQ which made no sense as Invader was in trouble. They would brawl on the floor a bit after the match. This was a fairly good match although there was some iffy psychology until the nonsensical finish. Next we get a video of the Chicky/Invader I feud and this is really good. Dory Funk Jr. vs. Sabu (not ECW) (October 1986) Squash. "Mr. USA" Tony Atlas vs. Tony Colon (October 1986) Squash. Frankie "The Thumper" Lancaster vs. Angel Diaz (October 1986) Squash. Invader III vs. Mexican Angel (October 1986) Invader looks good here. Abdullah the Butcher vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. (October 1986) Nice TV matchup here. Huracan immediately goes after Abby's scar tissue until Gary Hart hands Abby his foreign object which he would use to poke Huracan in the head. Abby is in full control here and brutalizes Huracan forcing out the juice from scar tissue then choked him out to win. Invader I would show up and used a steel chair to send Abby running.

November 17, 201311 yr comment_5573007 Chicky Starr & Ron Starr vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. & Victor Jovica Decent match. The face shine was really good with some spirited offense and great reaction from the heels. Old man Jovica taking the fall after it looked like he had a stroke seemed like the right finish too. The Invader & Miguel Perez Jr. vs. The Islanders (Tapu & Tio) I thought Invader's selling made this seem like a better match than it really was. I wasn't particularly impressed with the heels here, though it was nice for them to get this much offense on tv I guess. It was kind of sad to watch them try and work basic spots with Perez and struggle immensely. Perez powerslam did look good. Invader III vs. The Crusher VQ is not good during the opening moments of this. This had some good spots and moment in it, but I wouldn't call it a good match. Invader 3 whiffing on the crossbody was probably the highlight of the match and even that was nothing terribly special. This got a lot of time and I think both guys are pretty good, so this was pretty disappointing really. The video package of the Chicky/Invader feud is great and a definite EXTRA There is a Castillo Jr training video in here Invader III vs. Mexican Angel Nothing match. Abdullah the Butcher vs. Huracan Castillo Jr. This was effectively a mauling by Abby but a fun one because they gave Castillo some hope on the front end and invader chasing fat man Abby away was hysterical.
