May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503488 To me, none of that matters. They built it up for YEARS as death. That's what matters. I don't care if his finisher was blowing someone over really hard like the big bad wolf. If they built it up properly then it works for me. Wrestling is fake. Now I wanna see Chikara or someone do that. Even put together a Big Bad Wolf gimmick to boot.
May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503490 WWE nixed their other uber protected K.O. move: the punt has been banned. 'Concussional' awareness https://twitter.com/RandyOrton/status/205165985345454080
May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503492 Aww, that's a shame. Bar none, the punt kick is my favorite finisher in WWE these days. Edit: I will however point out that the logic behind banning the punt citing concussion awareness is weird, considering one could argue Show's WMD knockout punch could induce concussions, especially seeing how boxers routinely suffer long term head damage getting punched over and over in the head through the years. You could also argue for other finishers as well as having potential concussion effects.
May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503493 Guess i'm alone on this one here but I have no problem with Clay as a worker, not sure what ppl want out of the guy but I thought him vs Miz was a perfectly fine fun 4 min match.

I dont know if it was Orton hurting dudes (which he did - Vince)? Whether the move trivialised concussions/head injuries in someone's eyes? Wasnt "PG" or what?
May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503495 If we are debunking it as a bullshit excuse, my guess for the real reason is that it isn't a babyface move to do. They are behind Orton as a franchise face over on Smackdown, and to have him kick guys in the skull would go against that, even if his character is a rogue wildcard one.

Not saying they didnt get a letter from a "concerned mother in Ohio" but the entire cross section of WWE fans would beg Orton to do the move.
May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503502 WWE may be spooked by the NFL concussion lawsuits and the recent death of Junior Seau. The fact that Dustin Runnels was fired as a producer for booking a dangerous double team finisher shows that they take this issue very seriously.
May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503510 Count me in the group of people who don't hate Brodus as a worker. He fills a niche. He is visually different and his character works different;y than everyone elses. I do get tired of everyone taking themselves so damn seriously. Other than Santino pretty much every other wrestler is so serious all the time. People like to say comedy ruins wrestling, heck even Cornette had this long rant about it, but even he is looking at it a little flawed. As an entertainment form, wrestling needs points where you can laugh, as much as it needs places where you can cry big manly tears, and places where you can cheer. It's about evoking emotions. I really wish they would have gotten behind his character and just let him be the funksaurus, they seem to be trying to give him a fued. I would have just kept him as the happy babyface that talks smack in the ring and frustrates heels.

May 23, 201213 yr comment_5503534 There was a tag match a while back where Yoshi Tatsu took a really dangerous bump on a Doomsday Device/powerbomb combination move from Titus O'Neil and Darren Young. Goldust was the one who came up with the spot, so he got the ax.
May 24, 201213 yr comment_5503627 For as much, deserved, flak as Michael Cole gets, he had some funny comments during the main event. When he commented that Big Johnny "Looked much better on the video tapes" the boys and I all lost it.
May 24, 201213 yr comment_5503751 On banning the punt: I understand why, because it's the only move in the WWE which is supposed to cause a concussion. That's the whole storyline point of the move, that Orton kicks you in the skull so goddamn hard that it gives you brain damage and puts you on injury leave. No other current finisher has been sold like that, as if they're supposed to do more bodily harm than what's simply necessary to pin your opponent. Since they're so terrified of concussions nowadays, it's hard to justify a top babyface whose best move is intended to cause the damn things. The last guy who had a lethal punch was... Johnny B. Badd ?Don't forget Tank Abbott!
May 25, 201213 yr comment_5503832 When was the last time Orton used the punt anyway? Since he's been a face it hasn't really been part of his moveset. It's a heel move. It's kind of like Big Show's KO punch, he didn't really use it as a face except against Mark Henry, and it was only done to put over how much of a monster Henry was, that Show had to resort to that to beat him
May 25, 201213 yr comment_5503833 I remember him taking out all of the Nexus with it last year. I don't think Husky Harris was on TV after that either. I haven't watched the recent SmackDown but I think he used it on Sheamus which lead to the ban of it. Definitely used it less since the face turn, though.
