They do some neat reluctant partners spots. Big main event done well, although not a slam dunk
July 6, 201213 yr comment_5509321 Good match that I could absolutely see on a set though I agree that's it's not a guarantee for a set. I really enjoyed Piper as face in peril. It was a totally different role for him, but he was believable. Race's belly to belly transition was cool and I also liked the hot tag set up off the headbutt. Heels had good offense and the false finish before the real finish got me. Fun
July 6, 201213 yr comment_5509354 This is something I could see going on the set. Harley's offense is great here and I liked the cut off spots he had with Piper. The melee at the end was a ton of fun as well. It's not a guarantee but something that would fit on this set. LOW END NOMINATION (for now)
June 2Jun 2 comment_6030661 Hulk Hogan & Roddy Piper vs. Harley Race & Paul Orndorff (MSG 11/24/86) - Early on, the crowd erupts and the faces clean house and then face off and then attack the heels again. The crowd is electric. Piper and Hogan work over Race’s arm and staredown each time they tag in and out. Race rams Piper into Orndorff’s knee and then a sweet belly to belly to control. Now Orndorff and Race are in control. When Hogan gets the hot tag, the place EXPLODES. A big leg drop looks like the finish on Race but Paul saves. The crowd is nuts. Miscommunication clothesline and Piper pins Race. Piper leaves immediately and Hogan gets attacked by the heels. Hogan clears house and attacks Heenan for the huge pop. This was so much fun but there wasn’t al lot of depth. I agree with a MIDDLE NOMINATION.
