This was a great wild brawl. Harley took some absurd bumps and plenty of unprotected head shots that were incredibly violent and nasty. Hulk got piledriven on the concrete and whipped with belts and chairs. This was a whole lot of fun as well. Hulk wins with a vicious belt shot to the head of Race.

I had a ridiculously good time watching this entire feud and think all of the matches should be on the set, but this was my favourite. No matter how many times I watched Harley deliver the same beatdown that led to this stipulation I still dug it. Hogan was going to quit wrestling if he lost this match and it's about as close to a Memphis style loser leaves town match as you're going to get in the WWF, I suppose. Harley took insane bumps in this feud and Hogan brought his usual energy. I was so impressed by this series.

Hulk Hogan vs. Harley Race (Texas Death Match) (MSG 6/14/87)

This has some similarities but is worked differently enough from the Boston 6/6 match that it should be on. Harley is a madman here taking multiple insane head shots. The TV monitor at ringside? Check. A chair that breaks ending in him staggering around with it around his shoulders? Check. The ringpost? Check. Harley even bleeds a little bit during this. He’s awesome on offense too. The attack of Hogan with the chair is tremendous & I lost my mind when he actually hit the piledriver on the concrete! The finish is the same as the other Texas Death matches. The camera angle here doesn’t make the headbutt into the Title belt look good though. When Hogan came out in white, I was hoping he’d bleed & he didn’t. If Hogan had bled in these stip matches, they would’ve been slam dunks. Nonetheless, this is tremendous & arguably better than the Boston Texas Death match.

EASY NOMINATION

So there were some great details here like the chair breaking around the neck. However, they were similar enough but no apron headbutt. Neither match had real blood. Boston had the curtain tease. The most disappointing part was how vicious they were and no blood. It was a huge letdown. Too similar to have both. We can leave this one off because Boston was more intense. I mean shit... Hogan had the white outfit on… it demanded bloody tights.

Hmm... this is going to be a tough call because this was very simialr to Boston, although with some details that may differentiate enough (Hogan in white, Harley wearing the chair, piledriver on the floor). It looked like both Harley and Hogan got a cut on their foreheads but the blood didn't flow. Whether that is a plus versus the Bosotn match is up to you (maybe is a plus since there is a slight cut but for me it's a bit more annoying because we're closer to getting blood and yet it never comes). I also think the finishc came off better in Boston. So it's a case where you could make the arguemnt for both going on (if you feel they're diffrent enough because they're both certainly good enough) or if just one should go on (in which case I'd lean Boston for the cleaner looking finish and because the cuts not bleeding made me a bit more disappointed at the lack of blood)  We'll need to revisit and discuss when finalizng the list.
